Jay Nemeyer – 903 EP

Jay Nemeyer presents himself as an avid fan of classic rock grounded in gritty blues tones, which he delivers proudly on his recent EP simply called 903. The EP is only 3-tracks in length but his music is as American-based as the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, as folk rock as Ryan Adams, and smeared in grit-inspired blues as heavily as Earl Greyhound.
Nemeyer’s chordal formations have raw edges and his vocals purvey a folksy temperament, which comes through stoutly in “Sundress.” The loops of harmonica twitters move with a soulful spirit and the fluid acoustic guitar strokes brush gently across Nemeyer’s vocals giving the tune a generous amount of warmth. The song is the centerpiece of the EP and gives audiences a quick taste of Nemeyer’s skill to create ballad type folk songs.
