Armor For Sleep (http://www.armorforsleep.com) – I've heard some stuff off the new album, and I just want to tell everyone that it’s worth the wait. They have definitely matured since their last album and I can’t wait to see where they go with this one.

Sunny Day Real Estate – This band was absolutely amazing. I think they broke up in the late 90’s and some of the members went to other bands like dashboard confessional and then some of the remaining members started Fire Theft. Either way, I think Sunny Day is a founding father of the emo movement.

These are the only two things I really listened to this week. Sorry for such a short list. If you guys happen to have some bands you think I would like post them in the replies because I am always looking for new music.

sunny day broke up a couple times, after the first time the drummer and bass player went on to start the foo fighters, then sunny day got back 2gether and the drummer quit foo fighters, then then after 2 super prog but still awesome records they broke up again, and the second guitar player went off to be a farmer or something and the original singer/guitar player, bass player and drummer are a fire theft. scott from the promise ring is now in dashboard, and the drummer for dc was in seville along with the old bass player, i dont know about the other guitar player in dc

Yes Dan Hoerner from SDRE was that amazing lead guitar on the So Impossible ep, a unique style you dont hear on any other Dashboard songs...He even toured with them on their Fall of 2001 tour. Wrote at least one book, probably more since then.
But Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith didnt really leave to "start" Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl had already recorded that first album and heard they were breaking up so invited them along basically.
Jeremey Enigk also did the some songs for The United States of Leland, no soundtrack was released, maybe theyre still up if the movies website is still operating. Dont know. Amazing songs.
But SDRE's Diary and the Pink Albums (2nd) are two of the best albums you'll ever hear. Sad people dont appreciate their musical roots more.

If anyone who claims to love music hasn't at least listened to SDRE (not just heard of the band) , that is just wrong...

Nate Mendel, the bassist of SDRE is now the bassist in Foo Fighters and the Fire Theft.
