I really don't have anything to say because I think what I've been listening to this week speaks for itself and my current mood.
Tilly and The Wall (http://www.tillyandthewall.com) - Wild Like Children
I honestly would not know how to describe this band to anyone besides using the word "brilliant." They're on the upcoming Bright Eyes (http://www.saddle-creek.com) tour and for good reason. I find this album to be quite addicting and I'm sure many of you will be able to appreciate it too, especially if you're trying to branch out with your musical taste.
Bright Eyes (http://www.saddle-creek.com) - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
I know not everyone can get into Mr. Conor Oberst because of his voice, but at least take the time to sit down and listen to his lyrics and songwriting abilities. I haven't heard one person say they don't like this release and I don't expect many people not to like it. I'm also very into his other album coming out the same day (January 25th), Digital Ash In A Digital Urn.
The Flaming Lips (http://www.theflaminglips.com) - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
I love the band name. I love the album title. I love the music. It's been awhile since I've listened to this and after watching 50 First Dates and hearing "Do You Realize" in the movie I had to pull out the disc and hear it as a whole. It's quite addicting to say the least.
Owen (http://www.polyvinylrecords.com) - I Do Perceive
"Who Found Whose Hair In Whose Bed" is one of the most captivating songs I've ever heard. I'll never forget the first time I heard it because until this day anytime I hear it I have to listen to it over and over. Mr. Mike Kinsella can write some nasty lyrics which in turn he sings with one of the most awe inspiring voices. I recommend this to everyone.
Third Eye Blind (http://www.thirdeyeblind.com) - Self Titled
The other day there was some talk about this band and I just always forget how good they are so from time to time I have to put them in and remind myself why I always loved Stephen Jenkins' songwriting style and voice. This is definitely one of the best albums to come out of the 90s as there isn't one song I skip. "Motorcyle Drive By" and "Thanks A Lot" are just so addicting as well. "How's It Going To Be" still gives me chills every time I hear it down 'til this day too.
