I like them, although I don't think the new song is very good at all.
All radio friendly, intentional or not it still brings nothing new to the table and sounds like most chart rock bands could've written it, although that's just my personal opinion.
The last album was great, and the debut was good although the EP versions of most of it were better haha.
What do you think of them?

I must say now their going self produced and once again getting another PIAS label they can experiment more than ever before now. Thats why The English way is in a new direction of sound.
I'm so looking forward to the new album.

And I do listen to other music just couldn't be arsed to fill out every single one at the moment with just signing up.
I like band s such as, Deftones, Metallica, Evenescence, Killswitch Engage, 30 seconds to Mars, Brigade, Linkin park, Silver chair and many others.

Fightstar have some pretty good songs. I was so close to buying one of their albums, but I caved and just bought a few songs.
They're worth buying an entire album of, their albums work very well as albums rather than just songs imo. I'd suggest Grand Unification if you were going to get one, it's my favourite.

I recommend you buy all of their albums. They take you on a journey. There is something for every moment. I can honestly say I don't think I will ever get bored with their albums.

For these boys I totally would but I just seriously can't afford it. Flights ain't cheap. I'd love nothing more than to meet a few of the forumers while watching the band. Just lack of funds :(
Having a kid doesn't help lol.
Hopefully California (preferably near Long Beach ... there's a good venue in Irvine right by me ... hint hint) is somewhere on the tour schedule. Fightstar at the Hollywood Bowl would kick SERIOUS ass :D
Coolest venue ever. Outdoors with picnics, and good bands playing under the stars, can't beat it.

It really is the best venue ever. Unfortunately you have to be really well known to play there as there are so many seats to fill. I saw The Decemberists there playing with an orchestra on 07/07/07 and then Death Cab For Cutie recently with an orchestra on 05/07/09. Both gigs were awesome.
I don't think I'd get away with hiding in a box with a 42p stamp on it haha .... shame :(

We've just finished shooting the video for our new single "A City On Fire" last weekend in Manchester. We're immensely proud of it and can't wait for you guys to hear and see it. Fingers crossed for a first look next week!
We're also heading out on our headlining tour of the UK, starting on the twenty-first. Tickets and information are on our Myspace. Hope to see some of you out there. We'll be debuting some new songs live and playing songs we've never played before. Chemical Blood anyone?

Good question. We're not entirely sure but I'm expecting it to be a little shorter. Not by much but shorter nonetheless. It shouldn't be very noticeable. I promise we'll put on a great show to make up for it!

Don't think the forum is down for good though, don't see why they would. It's their official site and forum, so it will be back eventually. Just depends what's actually gone wrong with it and what it takes to fix :-)

Well I know 7 people in cluding me who wouldn't have been there if the Vans thing wasn't on. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be the same, and even then the room wasn't completely full.. I only turned up as Fightstar walked on stage. What do you think of the new venue too? I'm not sure about it
I was especially pissed off about the Vans thing as it was the only show I could afford to go to and they had to cut the two songs I was looking forward to most from the set. It was still great to see them though.

The Academy 3 was nice. Glittery haha.
Jazz is an influence on me personally but I can't see it being a major influence on our music. Maybe sometime in the future we'll incorporate Jazz influences into our music though. We experimented a decent amount with Be Human.

Charlie Parker is a big influence. His live recording Charlie Parker with Strings is amazing. Quite a big fan of his studio recordings too. To a lesser extent Duke Ellington is quite another big influence.

I love this band. Just got into them recently. I tried to show them to my friend, but he kept saying they sounded like Breaking Bnejamin. I mean, yeah, both lead singers have raspy voices. But I don't feel that they're really THAT similar. Am I just delusional?

Just on a side note regarding the whole downloading thing you mentioned. I am so happy you are deciding to wait to buy the rest on iTunes. For me, there are many reasons why you shouldn't download from these illegal sites. Yep, one being you can get a virus on your computer. However, the main one is it's basically theft. Peeps don't see as that though and it is a shame. At least you know you will be getting the best possible sound quality and pennies in the pocket for the band.

Yeah, I've always been very against illegal downloading for all the reasons you mentioned. And I've truly never downloaded anything illegal until there was this song I wanted that wasn't on iTunes...and then an album that I wanted that wasn't on iTunes. And then after my 3rd or 4th time downloading something from the internet ... I get a virus. Why can't the people who download ALL their music illegally get the virus?! Haha.
Anyway, I never actually downloaded anything that I could have gotten off of iTunes which makes me feel a bit better about myself. :)

My "A City On Fire" promo CD arrived last Tuesday. Nice to finally have a CD quality copy of it.
I heard they're recording the acoustic show for a DVD release I think? Or something to do with the re-release? Sounds good to me either way. Hopefully it won't be iTunes or digital download only and actually ends up on a second disc, with the original album (and the new songs) on the first disc.

I think they're recording it for the re-release, not 100% sure though. I can't wait to go though, it should be amazing. Al said earlier they might be playing Our Last Common Ancestor which would be heavenly to see so I really hope they do. I know how you feel though, there's always a ton of shows I wish I could go to that are only in America. I'm sure they'll be over sometime soon.

You could always check out Amazon.co.uk if you want the second album (and Alternate Endings) too. There's even a deluxe edition of it out. You could still have Amazon UK just ship it all out to you in one go too. It might be better to get it from there thinking about it. I've just had a good track record with recordstore, plus they deliver quickly.
You'd probably be better off waiting to get it all until March when the deluxe edition of Be Human comes out.

Maybe from a money making perspective, yes, it would have served him better. If he's happy now making music he (and lots of other people I might add) loves then good for him.
As for people on the official forum giving him shit for leaving Busted, not true, at all.

People don't respond to negative energy. It is all about love for music, support and positive energy. He doesn't need to answer to anyone doing what he loves. He is creating music for himself and if people like it, all the better. If they don't, then go and listen to music you do like. Hells yes. I love genre crossovers. I'm totally dying to hear it. They said end of Jan. Only 3 days tops until we hear it .... hopefully :D
Here's to hoping that a WAV or FLAC file will be a choice of download as opposed to just an MP3. Or if not then hopefully it's gets a CD release in the future.

Saw Fightstar last monday in Norwich and they were brilliant once again. They have to stop touring with shitty supports though, first Saving Aimee (vomits) and last monday All Forgotten, some of the most generic post-hardcore ever. Sucks.
Cars On Fire and The Xcerts were top notch though.

Generic as they were, I thought they were pretty good. I was shocked at how good I thought the vocalist was. I preferred them musically to the other two.

I really wanted to enjoy them. I guess the guy could sing well but I generally lean towards enjoying more distinct vocalists.
And The Xcerts had some wonderful, more subtly emotional parts.

Charlie, how did you come across with the name Mvua Nyusi, probably my fav track on the deluxe, strings sound awesome and the piano is well fitted.
I keep going back to 28K Resolution, love it and Mvua Nyusi is breathtaking and impressive :nod: It feels like a whole new record to me. I love the new intro for "Give Me The Sky" too! It works...

Just picked up my copy of fightstars re-release of be human, which as it was a fantastic album as im sure many will agree. Yet to watch the dvd part but already stoked on the new tracks and track order. This band never fails to deliver for me. Anyone else pick up the deluxe edition or just general thoughts on the be human in general?
p.s. love the fact that it also came with a signed album booklet.

But I'm more than happy that they're not getting back together after how much hard work Charlie's put into gaining credibility for himself as a respectable rock writer. Great albums, great shows, and I'm looking forward to what this acoustic album will sound like.

RE Brigade: I liked the rough demos they had up on their MySpace and I definitely think that both their last records were incredibly underrated, a perfect mix of post-hardcore and pop sensibilites. They just seem to be getting better and better; I don't know how some of their singles never really blew up. Also, Will is super nice.
I've been looking forward to USS too. I have to say I was just a casual listener with some older cuts until I saw them live but in that setting they are just to immense that it totally won me over. I love the new name as well, since "Prego" is a super famous brand of bolognese sauce in the US lol. Union Sound Set gives this nice antiquated vibe too. Shame it's such a long wait for the record. I don't know much about Mighty Atom though.

Very true, for me its work perfectly, i was about 10-11 when busted were around and my tastes changed to heavier music as did the type of music he put out, constant inspiration.

Haha from what I hear they're not even playing together until the middle of next year. They have toured the shit out of Be Human so I'm sure that there won't be another tour until there's another record, and if they don't get together for another year...you see where this is going...plus I'm sure there'll be UK dates first...whatever I don't care, I spend 7 months a year in the UK and 5 months a year in the US, split between two big cities. So chances that I'll catch them again at some point are good :P
