Cadillac Blindside - I have Rob Dobi to thank for introducing me to these guys. An early Fueled by Ramen release that went unoticed by many (including me), These Liquid Lungs is an outstanding pop-rock record, reminding me of Jawbreaker with a hint of No Use for a Name. This now defunct band is well worth a listen.
American Express - This is the lead singer from Recover's dance/acoustic side project, and damn is it catchy. I was personally a fan of old, harder Recover, but this pop oriented record Dance is a great guilty pleasure. I don't believe this has been released yet, but when it is, keep an eye out for it.
Elite Stranger (http://purevolume.com/elitestranger) - This great Seattle band is about to become the next big thing out of the scene here, following in the footsteps of other great local pop-rock bands like This Providence and Forgive Durden. Their new album comes out in a few months, and it should seriously turn some heads. You can check out one of the new tracks on their purevolume page.
Showbread (http://www.showbread.net/) - I don't know what the deal is, but their spastic pop-hardcore has grown on me immensely. Yes, they use the exact same chord progressions in every song, yes they would be better if they were harder, but I don't know...what they do just really seems to work, even if it is for about half of the actual CD. They're on Solid State Records, and their new album No Sir, Nihilism is Not Practical is really quite impressive. Plus, they have a key-tar. Come on.
Also, the new Postal Service song "Be Still My Heart" is awesome, as well as the new Anberlin CD.
Everyone needs to watch Arrested Development tonight as well as 24 tommorow.
