Band Phone Numbers?

Anyone else seen these bands with phone numbers in their myspace names?

What are they? Living in the UK I've not phoned any of them, so don't know what it's all about,

Are they just premium rate (money grabbing) lines with pre-recorded messages for fans?

If you don't know what I'm on about, Forever The Sickest Kids and Kill Paradise are a couple of examples I can think of,

Yeah 'cos I saw one guy/band/solo thing post a number and it said something like "CALL MY CELL" after it.

But I can't imagine bands who are that popular genuinely giving out their numbers?

I would leave one of their own songs as a message, just so they knew what they were doing.

You leave them messages that they can listen to and when you call you get ' subscribed' and put on a list I guess and you get texts everytime they leave a voice message. Or thats how some of those numbers are. Different bands use different numbers from different companies.

Midtown is amazing. they're one of my favorite bands. Forget What You Know is probably my favorite album of all time.

haha. I love Cobra. I could think of so many worse ways to assail my ears. FTSK was just alright though, in my opinion, which I suppose is why it's so easy to not bother with them anymore.

I watched it with my parents and there was definitely more than one occasion where we were just like "did John McCain really say anything worth saying there??" he came off as a total asshole too. he didn't look at Obama once and he went out of his way to sound condescending and show that he has no respect for him.

well, like I said before, I always thought FTSK was alright. I never thought they were anything epic or groundbreaking or just especially good in the first place. they were catchy, I liked their album, listened to it when I first got it and that was pretty much it. so it's not at all like I was a big fan and I suddenly stopped.

I just cannot hear the name of this band without thinking of them as ignorant, redneck republicans trying to persuade their fans to support a certain candidate based on insignificant and incorrect propaganda. I just can't respect them after that.

and lol MIKE JONES. anytime I've ever heard anyone I know say he's name out loud they've said it like that... like it should've been capitalized and maybe followed by a few explanation points. :-)
