I think that this is a great album, possible album of the year. What does everyone else think?

It is album of the year imo. Not by far, but certainly AOTY.

It's without a doubt up there for me as well. The first ten tracks are amazing, but I haven't quite gotten into the last third just yet. If those eventually hit me as strong as the first two thirds did, it will probably sit right next to The Glass Passenger on the list of my favourite albums this year.

Reservation: My album of the year list may or may not be completed until 2010 at the earliest, since I always seem to miss loads of great music! ;)

Really? Field of Daggers and Baby's a Red are two of the best songs on the album, in my opinion.

Well more than anything it's that I just haven't given the last part enough playing time yet, but I'll get to it. Usually takes a while for me to really "get through" a full album, especially one as rich as The End is Not The End. We'll see though =)

As for my best track so far I have to say In The Valley of the Dying Son. It's so diverse, and has so many different elements to it, and yet it's coherent at the same time. For me it seems to be the obvious masterpiece of the album.
