Nah. He's had cancer for awhile I thought. What a classy guy.
50 years of marriage
He sometimes teamed with his wife and fellow Oscar winner, Joanne Woodward, with whom he had one of Hollywood's rare long-term marriages.
"I have steak at home, why go out for hamburger?" Newman told Playboy magazine when asked if he was tempted to stray.
They wed in 1958, around the same time they both appeared in "The Long Hot Summer," and Newman directed her in several films, including "Rachel, Rachel" and "The Glass Menagerie."

I was just eating one of his Newman cookies a second ago. This is a real big loss. I'm gonna start going through his movies now.

Road To Perdition I think it a highly underated classic. By far one of the best movies in the last couple of years but one of the best mob movies too. Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, and Daniel Craig were amazing in it.

One of my absolutely favorite actors ever. This makes me so sad. A great man and a great actor. Legendary. He will be missed.

Very sad loss. He was a genuine, respectable man and a great talent. Extra props for the long lasting marriage and subsequent steak/hamburger comments. What a guy. RIP. You'll be severely missed.

I'm the best you ever seen, Fats. I'm the best there is. And even if you beat me, I'm still the best.

i liked when they tried it on jackass. anyways, the fact that he made Nixon's enemy list makes me like him even more.
That is such a shame. He was a master, R.I.P.

RIP, loved him. He was amazing in Road to Perdition and The Color of Money. He was awesome as the Stage Manager in Our Town too.

I didnt even know he was seriously ill, of all the star deaths this year, this is the one that hit me the most.
Love The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, and Road to Perdition, I got to meet him a few years back at Laguna Seca during an Indy Car race, super nice guy. He was a great Car Owner too for Mario and Michael Andretti.
