The video was directed by Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess and the song of course comes from their highly-lauded Give Up disc and their forthcoming cd single for "We Will Become Silhouettes" due out February 8 via Sub Pop (www.subpop.com).

before napoleon, i had never seen anything by jared hess. but after seeing that and this video, you can definitely see his own style, in the way the shots are done. i really like it.

I don't know about that actually. Don't get me wrong, I love the the album, but I think part of the magic of it was because it is what it is. Quick pop songs done lo-fi with crappy instruements. So I think that lends a certain charm to it. If he were to do another album then I think it wouldn't have that same fun feeling to it because it would either be too slick or something else. I just think that would cheapen it. Plus, it's not the easiest album to find, though I think it's readily available on Barsuk's site, and that makes it special too. I shudder to think how much the orignal cassettes would be now, but I'd kill for them. That's just how I feel though.
