I thought it was great...you could tell that they weren't trying to jampack an 1.5 hours of funny parts like they do with a 30 min family guy episode. they tried making it more into an actual plot and not as much random stuff. it was different then regular episodes so you have to take it for what it is worth. i do enjoy the regular episodes more but i still liked this.

Yeah, I work the early morning shift usually. I go in at 4am and end up staying until around 10am or so. Since it's the holidays though, we go in at 2am and leave at 8am. If we stay past 8am, which is when we open, we are supposed to go change into our Target clothes or whatever. When I first started, I was just wearing a red shirt...but it got all nasty and shit so they gave me a Target shirt. It has the little dog on it and everything. This is probably way more than you wanted to know.

I remember the days when Family Guy was on and I did nothing else. Last night while it was on I did laundry and washed dishes. It just doesn't hold my attention.

the way i see the new episodes. the really funny parts(the sketches they hit home) are just as, if not more, funny than the original threes seasons. it's just all the filler now is so hit and miss. the old episodes were better at being consistently funny. these new ones run out of steam in parts.

That's three new episodes in a row that have all sucked, and prior to that they had about two months off, so it’s not a stretch to expect better.

I'm no writer but the shit their putting out is getting more and more dated (gay marriage) and less and less funny (tonight’s episode). The “burden” of putting out two shows per week has obviously gotten to Seth and his writing team, and personal I think its time for him to drop one (American Dad) and focus solely on one project.


This past Thursday I watched the Medieval episode with Will Farrell on cartoon network and it really put into perspective how bad this show has gotten in the last year. It took the Simpson’s 10 seasons and 200 episodes to run out of ideas, its taken Family Guy 4 seasons and less then 70 episodes.

so they called a scientologist gay? original.
and they ripped off jackass without changing anything.
they dissed joey, i <3 huckabees, mcdonalds, the b-52s, lost, and king of the hill...

and i'm only 9 minutes into it.

The last few episodes have been horrible, and are very much like new Simpsons episodes. There is no character development, the plots are so untracable it's amazing to look at the beginning and end of an episode, and the jokes are stale now. They hit sometimes with Stewie and Brian (Stewie vaulting into glass cabinet last week was hilarious, and the only time I laughed during the episode).

I'm not too surprised though. Family Guy is the kind of show that tries to cram as many jokes in an episode as they can, regardless of whether they fit. There's more to comedy than just telling the joke. You have to set it up, and most of the time in Family Guy, this is just pre-determined by "Remember the time when...."
