In honor of me officially getting back into the entire Alkaline Trio discography, I'm making a poll in the same vein of my other "Favorite Album" polls (TREOS, Metallica, Thrice, et.c). This might become a regular thing. So, which is it?

this is awesome! people are voting for good mourning like they should be! this feels like an argument i always lose...

Yeah I've always heard that Goddamnit is their best. Pardon the pun, but I "Cringe" every time I hear it.

haha i still really like it, but definitely Good Mourning and Crimson are tops

I picked Agony and Irony. It was really tough to choose it over Crimson (and tough to choose Crimson over Good Mourning), but for whatever reason A&I hit me exactly right, even if I can't figure out what the hell that reason is.

Good Mourning.
With Maybe I'll Catch Fire a very close second.

are you serious? good work with the pun btw =P
i love this album. i think its my favourite. though it did take me acouple spins to fully appreciate it. this is my fav album by my absolute all time fav band. how can you go past nose over tail, as you were, message from kathleen, enjoy your day, trouble breathing. i could basically list that whole album haha. so many good songs. i love goddamnit.

how the hell is goddamnit not running away with this poll. or even competing for that matter. i'm genuinely surprised. i voted for infirmary because i figured it'd be the underdog. but i'm pretty sure i like goddamnit more now that i really think about it. wow. this is such a tough poll. have people just not heard goddamnit or something?

Good Mourning is my personal favorite... I do truly think it is their best release so far.. The last two discs were sub-par in my opinion

from here to infirmary is really good, but their best, without question, is goddammit. not even close. i cannot believe i was only the eighth fucking vote for goddammit. a travesty. seriously. clavicle? southern rock? sorry about that? i can't see how it's losing, let alone losing so handily.

EDIT: by the way, i haven't listened to anything after crimson, because crimson was such complete trash that i have no interest in new alk3

remains has got some good quality older songs on it. most notably, for me anyway, is hell yes and queen of pain.

look at the ages of everyone on this site or posting in this thread, was there any doubt that good mourning was going to win? all the goddammit and maybe ill catch fire fans or all 24-28 now

Goddmammit and Self Titled and my two faves. I still think they don't have a bad album.

Wow, surprised at the lack of love for goddamit...

Goddammit > Good Mourning > From Here to the Infirmary > Maybe I'll Catch Fire > Agony & Irony > Crimson

I'll go with Maybe I'll Catch Fire, not a moment on that album that I don't enjoy. Basically, any of the first four. I'll never get the Good Mourning love.

It's funny because I read an article in a magazine recently saying Alk3 were disappointed with how Good Mourning turned out and immediately started writing for Crimson when they finished it.

I voted From Here to Infirmary.

Goddamnit! by far. That's not to say that I don't like the other ones (the only one I really dislike is Agony & Irony) but no other album of theirs captures the energy that Goddamnit has. It is truly a classic.

I'm 26, and I voted for FHTI which is surprisingly running away with this poll. It was a tough choice between FHTI and Maybe I'll Catch Fire. I also think I'm one of the few original ALK3 fans that like the new sound. Crimson and Agony & Irony are both solid releases IMO. I think Good Mourning gets so much love because for most people it was the first time they had mass mainstream exposure to Alkaline trio. That was almost 7 years ago now so most of the kids that heard it when it came out aren't exactly young anymore. I assumed the newest albums would get the most love in the poll as they've been ALK3 best selling albums by far

I went for FHTI, but I, like many others, am shocked at how low the scores are for everything prior to it. IMO, Alk3 peaked at FHTI and have been on a downward trajectory ever since. Good Mourning was alright, but Crimson and A&I are just lackluster and tired. I mean, Skiba can't even yell anymore.

while there isn't a bad Alk3 album, my choice is From Here To Infirmary... but I also think I could chose Good Mourning... those two are my favorites without any doubt
