Bailout question.....

Now I know there is a thread about the Bailout. Congress just voted it down. I'm posting this seperate only because I don't want to read everyone's opinions on it.

Now, I read feeds from CNN.com, MSNBC.com, The Detroit Freepress and some NY Times online daily.. I haven't really been able to figure out what this bailout was for, how it works and how it can affect us.

Can someone please explain it to me, or point me to a credible source of information?

PS- I've not had cable since March, normally I would've had more information on it by watching CNN I guess.

You say there's a thread - and then ignore it. Haha, post in that thread - there is plenty of information in there. Including an hour long presentation from Princeton economists about the bailout.
