Halifax (http://www.halifaxrock.com) has added a signed poster to the pre-sale offer for A Writer's Reference EP. This CD features brand new artwork, video footage and interviews as well as a new song. So along with the autographed copy of the album, all pre-orders received before January 25th will receive the poster. Also, all pre-orders will be entered to win an autographed guitar. Make sure you check out all the new shirts in the band's store (http://www.drivethrurecords.com/store/halifax) as well.

Steve -

It's a signed poster.

and I'd imagine you'd get two posters.

what did you think it was?

haha

If a band ever released an EP/album with the same name(besides a self titled) then that'd be crazy...

I think releasing more than one self-titled record isn't that smart either... I hate how Jimmy Eat World has like 2 s/t full-lengths, a s/t EP and a s/t 7inch I think.

im confused because this thread says you can order before jan. 25, but the drive-thru site says the 21. which is it?

They just extended the pre-order to the 25th. And to the guy above me Jimmy Eat World's latest self-titled was called Bleed American but after Sept. 11 they just referred to it as self-titled. But you're right it is kind of confusing.

That reminds me of a heated yet somehow lighthearted argument a friend and I had once about music. I don't even remember how it started but the topic was about people who stop listening to bands after they get a little exposure and become a more popular because they want to keep some kind of indie street cred and that listening to a band who was once considered indie is no longer acceptable since they are now popular. Basically he was just saying how he hated trendy people who started liking bands once they were popular. I was arguing in the defense that just because a band is on MTV doesn't mean that they aren't good anymore. But to summarize the point of this basically pointless post is that he said he was cooler than me because he liked peoples first albums and liked a band first before everyone else. I really had nothing that was gonna win me the endless "shut up, no you shut up" argument so I just stammered out the words, "yeah well shut up, because I have "Bleed American" and you didn't start listening to them until it was changed to s/t so you totally lose indie cred scene points for that.....punk!" He looked blankly and said "well you got me there". Then upon realizing that we both had Static Prevails and Clarity we both realized that the entire exchange was pointless. Not only did it end the argument but we sat around laughing about it for hours and still do to this day.
