theAUDITION (www.theauditionrock.tk) will be recording their Victory Records (www.victoryrecords.com) debut with John Naclerio (Brand New, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance) in April. They also have an amazing March tour lined-up, so stay tuned for details on that.

I haven't heard a single note by this band, but I'll check it out cause John is the best producer ever and only records good bands

My thoughts exactly, as far as I know he hasn't produced a bad record.

He hasn't produced for Brand New, but he did do some engineering on their first record. For those of you who are into credits on albums, check out www.allmusic.com

john naclerio produced DEMOS for these bands
for a long time he was the go to guy in the tri-state area for cheap, good sounding demos
on the first brand new records, he had the amazing task of recording the bass tracks (the whole record, sonically, sounds like shit anyway)

i've recorded with him and he's a swell guy and does decent work...his new studio is a let down to me, after all the money he was making and the momentum he had, he really didn't step it up a whole lot....

anyone going to dump money on naclerio should just go to www.vudustudios.com and record with mike watts...he is amazing

I heard today that The Audition got a new singer... Danny Stevens from Only in Movies which is a local band from the Detroit area- does anyone know if this is true?

Well, partly true....Bob (lead guiatarist, most of backing vocals, 1 of 2 founding members) quit the band...I forgot why, I don't think he wanted to tour, maybe school or something, i read it on their livejournal page....but that's as much as I know, I have no clue if they have a replacement lined up yet or if above mentioned guy is it...I know this isn't helpful, oh well

Here's some good news for people who love bad news (wait a second...)! Danny Stevens has decided to leave Only In Movies to join the Chicago-based, and Victory-signed band the Audition (which means Evo should be looking for a new band soon, RIGHT?!!?!)

- that was just a little excerpt taken from a bulletin Only in Movies posted today. but who knows? We'll see soon enough.

Danny is playing guitar and backup vox, Evo is singing.

There's nothing more to this story.

Hmm... I wouldn't be surprised to see Evo without a band in due time.

How did the the Audition get signed to begin with? Gross.

i'm not too firmiliar with mike watts, so i'm just going by what is on his site with this but

the drums sound like trash on 3 out of 4 of the tracks he has up. and the over all production isn't really anything fantastic.

Mike Watts, isnt that the dude who totally wiped his ass with hopesfall? That production was quite possibly the biggest let down of 2004. I'd honestly find more pleasure out of someone beating my dick with a cro bar then listening to that disc.

Actually, Mike did the engineering for this record. He is listed as having done mixing as well but he had very little to do with the mixing and production. You have Mr.Steve Haigler, the man behind Brand New's - Deja Entendu to thank for Hopesfall's record. - dan
