Is it just me or did they get alot better after "The Changing Of Times"? Like they were still good before "They're Only Chasing Safety" but it sounds like a big difference.

u should. its sad how many kids think that underoath only have one album out (not talking about you) and a few know about changing of times, and they think that was thier first.

i only really got into underoath with they're only chasing safety. their old stuff is too heavy for me. i got changing of the times for xmas and i really don't like it all that much.

their new cd is good, but i think the old stuff is good in different ways, i guess i can appeal to the more heavier stuff. I kinda like the sound of they're only chasing safety, but all in all, great band.

definately old underoath is great! ive been listening to them for about three years, first time i heard them was at cornerstone in 2000, the following year i moved to oklahoma city and booked them frequently with norma jean/dead poetic. super nice guys, dallas was an amazing vocalist and also has a new project out, maylene and the sons of disaster (http://www.purevolume.com/mayleneandthesonsofdisaster). they were such a good live band, but when dallas left, the band changed alot with the new singer(he was in the band on the changing of times, does backups). i'm not a fan of they're only chasing safety at all...the last song is the only one i liked...actually i was so excited about the new cd, i bought it the day it came out, and then re sold it later that day. it sounded like alot of other stuff out...but none the less, im not gonig to call them sell outs like some people refer to bands. they didnt change their sound because the label wanted them to, solid state is a good label to be on and lets the bands do as they please. they did it because they wanted, im still a fan and i couldnt be happier for them. god i talk to much

They're Only Chasing Safety has some definite good points, but their older stuff is far better in my opinion. Their new stuff just doesn't have any originality. It's pretty good for pop-punk, but it's nothing new. Also, the new singer isn't nearly as lyrically talented.

Yeah dude, i know what you mean. Already i can tell that the original singer was way more talented.

If anyone's interested, you can check out Dallas' new band "Maylene And The Sons of Disaster". They have a couple songs on Purevolume...it's good stuff.

yeah dallas's new band is sick. they are like southern rock/metal. idk. but i was listening to them the other day. i am like 90% positive that people know this, but for people who havn't heard of them Anam Cara is pretty good too. its Octivo's band.
