This might be one of my least favorite of the new The Academy Is... songs I've heard. I love Checkmarks...damn...yeah, a leak, or at least an e-card would be nice. I'd just like to get an idea of what I'd be investing in because right now I'm on the fence.

out of the 3 songs from over it and the academy is, i like the academy so much better, there stuff will be hit or miss with some people but at least they are doing something alittle different than trying to be the next yellow card
Well said, the academy is... tries something different and they're actually pretty good at it. I'd rather listen to a band with this mentality then a band that's really good at what they do but sound like everybody else.

This album is going to be insanely good. This is definitely a poppier song; the melody is really... cute or something. Anyway, everything I've heard I've liked so far.

I agree with the above and that I think with the 3 songs released by each I am looking more to the academy is record. I cant wait to see them live with Fall Out Boy butnot until March 30th.

Not one filler song on this record so far, this is incredible! Alternative Press was right that this is gonna be one of the best records of the year. we need this record, i can't wait. bravo.

I've gotta say I commend them on having varying sounds in their songs. Checkmarks sounds much different from what Black Mamba did (I love the spanish sounding chorus there) and this song is just straight up hooky poppunk. Love it.

what's sweet too is every tuesday they promptly put the song up. i think it's gone up at or before midnight on monday the last three weeks running. i know because i avoid the shit out of homework, but anyway, it's better than ASL when they were supposed to release that song on christmas but it gets pushed back to three weeks later, and it ends up to be a mediocre song.

They are definitely building the anticipation up for this record... Each week I am more and more impressed with what I'm hearing. I don't think it's fair to compare with Silverstrand just yet, though.

I was going to say the same exact thing. I was a tad bit disappointed when I heard it on their purevolume page. It is 10x better live. This is still going to be a killer cd though. It will definately top my list of 2005.

some of us haven't had the chance to catch this band live yet. but i already got my ticket for march 30, yeah im a little ahead of things ha, but id die if i missed em. unless im retarded and missed it they have never been to the northwest. they were suposed to come once a couple months back, but cancelled because of van problems or something along those line. classifieds is my favorite song i've heard so far, but i can't wait for the cd. i was real disappointed when they put up attention, because i already have that song, maybe a different version but still. and yes, i think they're better than anberlin. oh but i do love anberlin, especially live. but im not really sure why we're comparing them? maybe because theyre releasing albums around the same time?

The last few times I've seen them they have only played The Author from the ep. They have generally played Season, Checkmarks, Slow Down, Classifieds, Attention, and Down and Out. But that was before they had begun to release new songs on purevolume, so I don't know if it has changed much.

The only song from the ep I remember them playing live was the author. This was before I had the ep but i don't remember playing any other songs from it.

I love all of the songs they have released so far. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I really want to hear Down and Out recorded now that I know which song it is.

Damn! I really would love to hear some more off the EP, but the new songs are amazing as well! Oh well, I will be stoked to see them no matter what they play! I hope they play Black Mamba, that is probably my favorite of the new songs!
