Ahhh... I had to write a poem analysis for my AP English class. Here... it wasn't too bad.

It's by Langston Hughes.
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.
Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--
I, too, am America.

You can do a lot with this. If you dont like this one, I can try to find some more. Hope it helps though.

e.e. cummings is a god.
It's "E. E. Cummings." He correctly capitalized his own name. Although many people think Cummings prefered using the lowercase at all times, he mostly did so in his poetry. Cummings famously wrote to his mother, "I am a small eye poet," referring to his frequent use of unconventional grammar and syntax in his poetry. However, you'll notice that he capitalized "I" in that sentence.
But yes, Cummings was brilliant. Other great poets I read in high school: Wilfred Owen, Sylvia Plath, Ai, Dylan Thomas, William Shakespeare.
