View Full Version : Temple University (Main Campus)
Feedback?
I hear that right off campus is awful, but that it's only about a mile or two north of the city center.
How are the classes? the food? the campus? etc.

the area is really bad. my mom knew a kid that got murdered there. now I'm not saying that no one ever gets killed any where else - but I'm just saying.

I'm currently a freshman at temple. Yes, the area around campus is sketchy but it's philadelphia. However, campus security is on every corner and in all the buildings so safety hasn't been an issue. They also have an alert system for emergency situations. They just revamped the general education requirements and you have a lot more options (ie. chemistry of wine as a science course). The food is decent, the student center has more variety but the cafeteria is buffet style. You can take the subway into center city, which comes in handy for me when going to shows since the tla, electric factory, first unitarian church and trocadero are places I've frequented already. We also have a Septa station on campus that's regional rail and takes you out of town. If there's anything else you want to know, ask away. I'm enjoying it so far though.

The girl above me has it pretty much answered. Of course, it's not a totally safe area, but a) it's Philly, and b) it's North Philly. The campus is pretty legit though. Tons of security. I've been at Temple for 2 years but have practically been here for 3 years and I'm still alive. Just be smart about what you do.
I love this city and I have a great time living here.
