I didn't hear from him until 5 pm today when he got out of jail because apparently he got arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. :-(

it set me back zero dollars since I didn't pay for any of it :) it was a gift from my parents and grandparents. part birthday present, part long overdue grad present, and partly just out of concern because the car I'd been driving the last few years had lots of issues and was not reliable.
