everyone hates mtv, but i look at it as a constant good reminders of what not to do in life...ever. i think mtv may be on to something by constanly showing us how ridiculous pop culture really is, it doesnt matter whats on im always laughing at it, and their reality shows constantly take things out of context constantly, and throw voice overs throughout scenes constantly..ESPIECALLY on "The Ozbournes." MTV is so swen together its almost ovbious to see everything on it is fake and a strech...its becoming my new Sports Entertainment thing , rather than pro wrestling now, no one believes wrestling is real anymore, but a lot of people think mtv is, and thats why i love it, lol.

yeah i haven't watched mtv in a long time actually. i forgot about that. no wonder i am so out of touch with real life, it's cause i don't have mtv. :wink wink:

i only watch mtv for the shows, and isn't j-roc some character on some lame show? i know this because my teacher's favorite show has some guy named j-roc.

Honestly, MTV bothers me. I mean, music that helps me to realize the world is pretty fucked up, yes, I do enjoy that. That's why I listen to NOFX. But I don't want the only music tv station I get to be merely about that. It's monotonous, and I can't stand it.
Yes, there are other stations, but VH1 isn't any better, and I don't have the money to get anything else, so I'm stuck with that. You've got a good point, but that's not all life is about. MTV was supposed to be about the music, way back at its inception. It is no longer about music, thus it does not deserve its title.

The only good show that MTV have got IMO is Screenplay. It's a movie show thats only shown here in the UK and they review loads of indy films as well as the big buget ones. Not so long ago they reviewed a cool B movie with Bruce "Evil Dead" Cambell in it where he plays Elvis Presley and fights a horde of zombies and they actully gave it number 5 in the best films of 2004. Besides this the rest of MTV sucks.
j-roc was a nickname given to me by my exgirlfriend over 9 years ago....i never knew anyone else with it until lately...its been popping up alot. i've heard a million definitions for it, but when i was given it it ment nothing more than my first letter of my name (jamar) and my favorite type of music rock, but i dont consider myself the epitamy of rock so i drop the k, and kept the c.
i think people will never be content with what they have. people don't realize that they hate mtv because its the only channel they have, and they wish they could mold and shape its programming. i would seriously rather watch mtv than fuse, because i dont know how many times i can watch the same couple of videos, fuse plays GREAT bands, but they dont play that much more of a variety than any other music station, every station has their favorite bands to keep in rotation first of all. i enjoy the fact that i can enjoy music television, even it it is bad, we all know whats good, we all know why its good. maybe its just me but i rather look at trl and point out all the ridicuouls things going on, than to watch my chemical romance make their video for the 12th time this week....fuse is cool and all, but sometimes i rather watch someone being completely fake, than to watch a network co-sign in the killing of a genre.

i watch mtv for about the same purpouse as i watch a bit of nascar, i'm looking for the wreck. it's almost errie that i gravitate towards trl sometimes only to eventually hang my toung out of my mouth in disgust about 5 seconds later. mtv is plauged by something they made popular now they've gone too far with....reality television. while i like watching people get thier shit ruined as the nation watches also, i'd trade all of that in to see a solid 4 hours of all different music videos.
