Well I am taking the plunge and getting married, my girl and I are having one hell of a time trying to figure out what we want to dance to. She wants country music or something with faith hill.....not really my style. Any ideas of good rock/pop/unk songs with good vocals and lyrics? AP.net always comes through.

I was waiting for you to tell me that I should be American before formulating these opinions. Well, I was born with an American passport in my mouth, so that invalidates that argument.
Also, just because I'll be three months too young to cast my vote doesn't mean that my views are worthless or unfounded. In fact, your complacency at thinking that, because you ARE of age, your views are somehow superior, only reinforce my thinking that you're an idiot.

yes, it is. i'm really not in the mood to fight with some temperamental ap poster about politics, because i feel that you're entitled to your own opinions, as narrow minded as they may be. in my opinion, fighting over politics online is childish. you can say what you want, but you won't get anywhere.

First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes...
The lyrics would definitely work for a wedding... and it kinda has a country sound to it, your wife (to be) might dig it.
Other than that... maybe the acoustic version of Looking Back On Today by The Ataris?
Congrats, btw.

They were HoobUstank when this song was made and to my knowledge have not played it since the name change. The name change came with the loss of the horns section which this song has, thanks for the attempt at a correction though.
The CD (They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To) came out in 1998 when you were 7 and was far and away their best work if you ask me.

Sorry for to OP for straying a bit.
As for the songs, I could probably easily list another 100 plus songs depending on what you're looking for. Not sure why, but I have a list of love songs I've collected in my years. Another song that would largely be unknown is a song called "This World Is Beautiful" by a guy named Avir Mitra. He has a group called Bamboo Shoots and the song has been recording both solo and with the group. Its a very mellow song and has some Indian influences throughout.
Another playful pop-rock song I really like is a song called "Beautiful" by a band Aztek Trip. They're from PA I believe and the song is a few years old but it is on their Myspace still: http://www.myspace.com/aztektrip

that last sentence did not read well at all, but I think I got the gist of it.
if nobody knows that Hoobustank is separate from Hoobastank, they wouldn't know that you didn't just misspell it. I'm sure to most people, it would have just looked like a spelling error, since the existence of Hoobastank is common knowledge. your logic doesn't really make sense. how can someone know something they don't know?

The last part of that sentence was the combination of two sentences. I unfortunately forgot to clean up the extraneous words before submitting and then got busy with work. It definitely doesn't read well.
If you do not know the complete story or history of something then you are not in a position to point out any potential errors are you? In which case, there's no need for a post pointing out what you feel is an error as someone with only topical knowledge on the subject.

This is actually one of my least favorite Pogues songs and the fact that so many n00bz out there seem to think it's the best (or only) song by the band pisses me off pretty bad, but it works. And it is an alright song overall.

"You don't know how much I need you
While you're near me I don't feel blue
And when we kiss I know you need me too
I can't believe I've found a love that's so pure and true
But it all was bullshit (fuck yea (in the back ground))
It was a goddamn joke
And when I think of you Linda
I hope you fuckin' choke
I hope you're glad with what you've done to me
I lay in bed all day long feeling melancholy
You left me here all alone, tears running constantly
Oh somebody kill me please
Somebody kill me please
I'm on my knees, pretty pretty please
Kill me
I want to die
Put a bullet in my head..."

A Joshua Radin track would be nice. Not rock/punk/pop-punk but he's got plenty of appropriate tracks.
You missed a comma after "ok".
Then again, you like McCain and think that Palin has an ounce of credibility, so I could only expect you to be entirely ignorant.
However, you did a much worse mis-use of commas in your "sentence". A quite commonly known rule of commas is to never put commas around a phrase unless you can take them out and the sentence will still make sense. There should be no comma after again.
Thank you. You may now proceed to take your head out of your ass.
Anyways, Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus would be a good song to play at a wedding. Here's some other songs:
All Time Low - Remembering Sunday
Sum 41 - With Me
National Product - Love Me
Story of the Year - Until The Day I Die
Boys Like Girls - Hero/Heroine, Thunder
The Starting Line - Best of Me, Island
Box Car Racer - There Is
Yellowcard - October Nights, Dear Bobbie, Only One
The All-American Rejects - Dance Inside
Angels & Airwaves - True Love
Ryan Cabrera - True (Although they aren't on this site)
Secondhand Serenade - there's plenty to pick from here
and if your feeling lucky, finish it off with blink-182 - Happy Holiday's, You Bastard. That'll piss of the in-laws...

However, you did a much worse mis-use of commas in your "sentence". A quite commonly known rule of commas is to never put commas around a phrase unless you can take them out and the sentence will still make sense. There should be no comma after again.
Thank you. You may now proceed to take your head out of your ass.
The sentence still makes sense without "then again" and, therefore, I don't know what the hell you're talking about.
I have merely played with syntax in order to surround my main clause with two subordinate clauses.

There is no comma before "then again". I am talking about the comma between the words "you and credibility". If you take those out it says, "Then again so I could only expect you to be entirely ignorant." Combining a dependent clause and a fragment rarely works and in this case it doesn't. It would work if you take the words "so I" out, but unfortunately you didn't.
Next time you should think before you decide to be a smart ass and turn a grammatical mistake into a political debate, especially when you don't know anything first-hand about it.

thats not what your mom said
That was kind of interesting how you came in here saying that political opinions aren't important until you're 18 years old when clearly you're way more immature than anyone in this thread.
