I've always wanted to make playlists, but every time I try, I always blank on good ideas for them. So I figured you guys could give me some examples, or some good songs to put together, etc. Stuff like that. Any type of music as well. Let's see what happen.

a play list doesn't necessarily need a theme, i'd say if you really want to practice make a playlist of songs you like, then progress by making a playlist of song that have similar sounds to you(i.e. heavy synth, raps in the songs, Rad guitar solo) then do songs that make you feel a certain way (something to do with an ex-GF/BF seems to work pretty well)...anything beyond that really just require you to know a song and what it's about..or at least the chorus, then just connect to other songs that have similar or the same message (a cliche example would be Fall Out Boy- "tell that mick he just made my list of things to do today" and the Atari's- "your boyfriend sucks", in the sense that both are about or have parts that emphasize a distastes for a girls boyfriend)... after a while you begin to see that certain bands/albums have a recurring themes(i.e. brand new your favorite weapon is always good for a break up song) this forum can help find the specifics for a theme if you start blanking... but a theme can really be anything, dance music, i miss you songs, songs that have a certain name in them. i would say focus on what you want a theme to be, then come back here to figure out specifics. also focus is required when making a good mix...otherwise it's all over the place, and then it's easy to lose sight with what your trying to convey with your play list/mix... i don't know if this is helpful...or if this is even what you meant.
