Boris have pretty much transcended the whole metal genre. High on Fire are really good, too. Dethklok are so fucking awesome, as well. I love the fact that a band that sprung from a cartoon is one of the best metal bands out there.

I won't lie, I dig some of Framing Armageddon and The Glorious Burden even though most Iced Earth extremists will tell you that everything post-Barlow is shit. Aside from the filler interlude tracks, Framing Armageddon is pretty solid.

The biggest problem I have with Into Eternity is the vocals so I'm reluctant with the new stuff. Guy has an amazing range but it's not my thing.

Hahaha this is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I'm both a metalhead and a nerd, and yes, it can go hand in hand, but the people some of you guys are describing are most certainly not real metalheads or even real nerds. If anything, they sound more mainstream-ish, which is the exact opposite of being a nerd. And for the record, the best Metallica album is Justice, even if the bass is weak in the mix and not played by Cliff Burton. The songwriting on that record is phenomenal.

I like And Justice for All but the production on it really bugs me and I don't listen to it as much. You're right about the songwriting, though. Ride The Lightning has always been my favorite.

yeah, i definitely wouldn't say and justice for all is their best for me personally, but it's a good album.
