i thought collide the tide from their ep was a really solid song, really tragic what happened to one of their members last year.

Pop music can be really good, it's just not the shit you hear on the radio (or is really popular for that matter). It shouldn't really make you cringe.

I love pop (Belle & Sebastian, New Pornographers (AC Newman), The Shins, Broken Social Scene....etc)

The term "art-pop" made me cringe. Meaning the basics that make pop enjoyable are discarded for some unnecessary grandeur or "distractions."

I guess I didn't clarify that well.

i agree with everything said here. collide the tide is an amazing song. and what happened was incredibly tragic. Chris seemed pretty awesome. Didn't he push his girlfriend out of the way or something and save her?
