What music do you listen to while writing reports?
I tried Circa Survive and The Mars Volta tonight and they worked pretty good.

it depends. but when i'm revising for exams, i always use the same band for each subject. so once i'm in the exam i dont get all confused by different connotations with music etc. for example, my politics exams are always the cure

Same as me or I randomly scroll down my My Music folder and click on something while I'm not looking.
Anime music works really well for me though.

Same here except I use iTunes and it's usually whatever I'm into at the moment.

Something I haven't listened to in a long time. If I know the words, I sing along and rock out and pay no attention to my work. So I gotta dig up the oldies but goodies.

I couldn't listen to music and study/write reports... I just get too distracted, my concentration sucks as it is without music in the background. I don't know if some music is supposed to help or whatever, but music while studying just doesn't work at all for me.

Yeah, i do the same. And i always try to keep one song for each module within a subject, so when i'm in an exam i can refer back to the song when i need to. It's a bit risky but seems to workf ine for me. And in relation to the thread, i listen to anything i find in my collection first. It doesn't matter, as long as i like it.
I wrote about the likes of Morrisey and Dave Grohl in my final Norwegian exam. I got the best grade in my entire scool (sorry, I just love reading that). So yeah, those two work like a charm on acid.

Lately I've been listening to The Format while doing homework, or Iron & Wine...typically something fairly mellow.

Wes Montogomery.
Hmm...Anything, really. I've gone from Bob Marley and Modest Mouse to Ataris, Green Day, Descendents, and Awol One. Just depends on what kind of report you're writing, really.

You are supposed to study while listening to Classical music, like handels (sp) water music. It is supposed to make you retain more information.
i actually do that... Beethoven & Motzart own you all.

I pretty much listen to whatever. But oh man, the last time I had to write a huge paper I decided to blaze up before writing it, just 'cus i had never done it before and wanted to see if it would work well. Well, it went by fast, but the next day in class when I was reading it I had no clue what the hell I was saying and everyone was laughing. I was trying to play it off like I got a bunch of spelling errors :headshake
shame on me
