Wrote it pretty quick, it still needs a bit of work.

----------------------------------------

I'm wide awake, it's nearly morning
I find serenity in the ceiling
To myself I'm always wondering
What do you do when I'm not there?
If I call, don't pick up
You couldn't stand to hear my voice again

You're always taking photographs
As if you could see yourself
In the grass, beyond the sea
Where I wish you'd wait for me
You're always taking photographs
But can you see my fleeting image?
Inside of your heart is where you won't find me

Making out through movie scenes
To the scent of sweat and cheap cologne
I'll keep it to myself when I get home
Was that your face through the window by the door?
The first face that I saw after I woke up
Or was it just in my head

You're always taking photographs
As if you could see yourself
Behind the trees, on the roof
The roof where I'd sit and watch for you
You're always taking photographs
But can you see behind the lens?
I want a picture of you to pin forever to my wall

Do you remember when you took me
Inside your darkroom so I could see it all
A most revealing side of you
You're life's work hanging loosely on a string
I could bring it all down if I wanted to
But you've beat me to the punch

You're always taking photographs
(Forever on my wall)
You're always taking photographs
(Forever on my wall)
You're always taking photographs
(Forever on my wall)
