View Full Version : Underoath - "Lost In The Sound of Separation" VINYL
Did anyone here buy Underoath's new album on vinyl? I bought it the day it came out and on 'Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear' (the second to last song on the B side) it would skip and loop the same part over and over. I took a really close look at it, and there appeared to be a pressing flaw. I took it back to the record store, exchanged it for the new one, and the new one doesn't get caught in playing the same loop over and over, but it certainly skips in the same part making a loud pop. I took a close look at this one, and it too has a pressing flaw, but a little less seveir.
Has anyone else had this same problem?
OMG!!!!
UNDEROATH!!! *dr00l*

I ordered mine from Interpunk. Mine had issues too, so I sent it back to Interpunk for a replacement just today. There were three very loud pops at the beginning of "The Created Void". The first happened just as Aaron's vocals came in and they all happened one after another, completely skipping a good ten seconds of the song.
I was disappointed. I thought we were getting a 180 gram, colored 10" and we got a black LP with less than stellar packaging. I would have been satisfied had the record been perferct, but...
1. Thank you "Ouch" for your irrelevant posts... glad someone has time to waste.
2. It's not really a locked groove, but a flaw in the press.
3. Yes, I thought that it was going to be a 10" color vinyl as well. Are those being pressed too?... or just the 12" black vinyl that we bought?

Dear Lord, could you please not post unless you have something to contribute? Thank you.
I've never seen an UnderOath fan taking themselve so seriously.

Being an idiot to the retarded underoath fans is one thing, this is another.
This poster is clearly at least remotely intelligent, so stop it you fools.

These pops are just to wake you up to remind you that you're listening to Underoath, so you can ask yourself; "what the fuck am I thinking?"
Has anyone else purchased this vinyl?
If so, does your copy had any pressing issues?
Thank you.

People bought these to listen to and not to just frame and put on their walls? what the fuck?
sometimes pops are caused by static on the vinyl. try cleaning it. this has happened to me plenty of times when buying vinyl from a store, i always try cleaning it before worrying if the record itself is flawed.
Hey, thanks for the response. I'm quite positive that it is not static or dust. The first copy I had, I cleaned with "Groovy Cleaner" with no benefit...
I took a close look at the groove track and could visually see the pressing imperfection causing the "pop" and "skip." I exchanged that copy for a new copy which is a little bit better (no skip but still "pops" in the same spot).
At this point I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with the entire pressing or just a partial amount...
And yes... there are plenty of people who buy vinyl to actually listen to. Vinyl is an exact replication of the music as opposed to digital which allows vinyl to produce better quality. Here's an article worth reading: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/question487.htm

I hope to fucking god you aren't bitching/complaining about the COLORED... SAWBLADE.... VINYL.
A. It's Colored
B. It's in the shape of a fucking SAWBLADE
C. It's Colored
No fucking way is a 10'' piece of wax shaped like a saw going to fucking play perfectly in a rotation record player unless you own a very expensive record player. YOUR needle will pop that piece of shit every time.
Just saying. That shit is just for eye candy looks and if you went into it expecting to be able to spin those daily then you are the fucking dumbest person on the planet.
I bet the pressing play had a field day pressing those goofy fucking looking records.

No, I am referring to the 12" black vinyl pressing that came out on Tuesday.

what exactly does a pressing error look like? i've never seen one.
what exactly does a pressing error look like? i've never seen one.
They can come in various different fashions... but the error on this record is a bit of a gap between the groove tracks. It follows the round nature of the record, but it's a big enough gap that the needle gets caught in it and makes the record play the same part over-and-over.
It's a bit tough to dictate a good description... but hopefully that paints some sort of picture for you.

Fail. Try reading the thread next time before pissing and moaning about something irrelevant.
You're pathetic.
