I can't believe there isn't already one (according to the list in the sticky topic)!! A great band from the UK who refuse to sit still too long but instead keep evolving their sound, to the displeasure of some but to the great delight of musical purists. Their debut album Silent Alarm is generally seen to overshadow their follow up A Weekend in the City and they are set to physically release their third album Intamicy later this month I believe. The first few tracks I have heard from it suggest their music is going to evolve again and move away from raw post punk and toward experimental electronica.

Totally loveable, totally charming, totally sparkley eyed frontman.

Silent Alarm > A Weekend In The City > Intimacy. A disappointing trend.

True, is there any album out there that has the same raw postpunk sound that Silent Alarm has?

don't get me wrong, i love silent alarm, but think people are too quick to dismiss their latest efforts when compared to it. i hated a weekend in the city when i first heard it, but it has grown on me a lot. plus i love all of their b sides and intimacy is not as bad as people are saying....there are a lot of great songs on it.

Could have sworn there was already a thread. Not a fan regardless.

Have you heard of the band Gang Of Four? If you like Silent Alarm, I reckon you'd like them.

Actually I did see a few of their albums for about £3 in Zavvi when I was last in and thought I had heard of them before. I'm not sure which album to go for though, if you are a fan what would you recommend?

Check out the album Entertainment! It's good stuff.

Will do, gave them a quick listen to on youtube and they do have that raw energy and individual sound I was looking for. They are also quite politically minded, just hearing them briefly its hard to miss that, and it is something that permeates all their music it can sometimes be harshly detrimental to the aesthetic side of things.

I like this band.
I have a question though. Who wrote the song "Luno"?
Death From Above or Bloc Party?

I want to know who covered who.

I really enjoyed Silent Alarm over the others. Not a big fan of Intimacy as compared to Silent Alarm, but it's not terrible.

I'm seeing them at the Pagent at the end of March. I only know three people who listen to them though. It's kind of disappointing.
