Ben Folds with The Fort Wayne Philharmonic
Embassy Theatre
October 3 2008

"Your grandma can be in my chorus!" that was one of the things Mr. Folds said to the (believed) sold out crowd last night in Fort Wayne,IN. Last night was one of my first times seeing Ben Folds, I knew it was going to be interesting seeing Ben Folds with an orchestra backing him. Overall it was a very good show, I loved it. Ben was funny, and I was very impressed with the whole Orchestra aspect. What I was referring to in the quote was that, before Ben played one of the songs he said "Just pretend there is a chorus" and a man from the top yelled "I can be your chorus!!" then Ben responded to it by saying what was said. The chorus was the beginging of Effington. But with 2 hours of playing AND two encores I say I was really happy to see Ben Folds and loved it so much. It was a great time and I really hope to see him again. I thought however his mic was turned down to low on the first one and I felt like the Orchestra was overpowering his music so it was hard to understand what he was saying. Then someone yelled "Rock this Bitch!" after the first song and I think Ben wasnt really happy about that comment. Overall like I said it was a really damn good show!

Set List (should be in order and 100%):
Zak and Sara
Smoke
All You Can Eat
Effington
Landed
Kylie From Connecticut
Jesusland
Brick
The Ascent of Stan
Gracie
Fred Jones
Not the Same (didnt play piano but stood and conducted and sang)
One Down (Solo no Orchestra)
Last Polka (Solo no Orchestra)
Steven's Last Night In Town
Narcolepsy
-ENCORE-
The Luckiest
-ENCORE 2)
Hava Nagila
Army (no Orchestra)

I dont think Ben was supposed to do the second encore, he came out and snuck around the other side of the stage. He said "I heard a shout of for this song so I will just play it by myself." I think the Orchestra was really surprised to see Folds come back out but everyone went crazy when he played Army and the crowd even did the horns part.
