Green Day (http://www.greenday.com)'s "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" will be the theme song for the upcoming Batman Begins.

I'm not quite sure who would have made this decision.. How certain is this statement, because that movie is going to be a blockbuster, so it would only be natural for them to sell a song (or a soundtrack) that is new to the general public. I don't actually see this happening, despite whether it has been stated by WB officials or not.

I can definitely see why they picked it though. Just think about it for a sec.

No, "Good Riddance" is Green Day's most overplayed song.

Of course, I don't listen to the radio much, so I wouldn't know how often "Boulevard" is played, but still "Good Riddance" might be one of the most overplayed songs in history.

Also, I don't think it will be the "theme" song, they might play it over the trailer, but the Batman "theme" will still be an instrumental.

I dont really think that song fits the theme of Batman but it'll ok I guess. I only care about the film not what bands make up the soundtrack.

Also while we're on the subject of comic book movies I think Venom (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/venom.html) should be the main badguy in Spider-man 3 because he's by far the coolest of all the Spider-man villans. Now I'm sure thats something we can all agree on.

good riddance was overplayed, but the one thing i liked about it being everywhere was that it was on the last episode of seinfeld, and that show is awesome.

i agree... being a fan of both green day and the comic book... no one walks a "lonlier" road than batman. i think it makes sense. though i think the words "theme song" are a little too strong, if you will.

everyone knows that the regular batman orchestral theme has to be played.... right? i hope so.

They mentioned Eddie Brock in the first film, though I agree it would take most of the film to introduce him as spider-man would have to become the symbiote first and then get rid of it. That is if it was to stay true to the comic books.

They also hinted at The Wolfman - John Jameson (J.J. Jameson's son), The Green Goblin - Harry Osbourne and somone else but I forget who.

Also it's great to see something that isn't totally focused music posted on the site, 'cause as we all know punks a lifestyle not just a genre.

As much as I like Green Day, that's not really a good choice for the theme song of an action movie. "Holiday" would be better - maybe not as relevant, but in terms of sound.

Yeah, Green Goblin would be cool again, but not as cool as a new character. They would probably cut out Spider-man using the symbiote first, which would be lame. They mentioned Doc Conners in the first one and showed him in the second, thats why I think it will be the Lizard. They could always throw in The Wolfman as well.

Maybe Gerard from My Chem could make a cameo as Morbius

The Spider-Man movies were what they were supposed to be... but as far as the adaptation from the comic book goes they were horrible. The casting alone took care of that. Sin City is definitely going to be amazing (I heard Tarantino directed the final scene), but since it is such an underground comic book it won't gain critical success as a "Comic Book Adaptation" in the same manner which Spider-Man, X-Men, and all the other Marvel movies have.

how were they horrible adaptations? the spider-man series has come the closest of any movie yet to capturing the spirit of the comic it was based on. as for villains in #3, i'd like to see the lizard and harry as the hobgoblin (although their visuals/backstories might be a little too close to what's already been done)

That blows to do the Goblin again. I mean its the same thing, he son becomes the Goblin and gets killed. The only thing extra is throwing Mary Jane into that and the Harry friendship.

I can really see them doing the Batman riddler and joker thing and adding one big villain and and a smaller backup role by another. Oh god, I'm a dork
