1. You are voting for McCain or Obama because you can "relate" to them. Relate? People have said they "relate" to me. And i would make a HORRIBLE president. Whether you can "relate" to someone means absolutely jack shit.

2. You can't compare and contrast at LEAST 3 issues between the 2 candidates.

3. You can't name at LEAST 1 company involved in the bailout.

3.b. You have no clue what i'm even talking about when i say "the bailout"

4. You don't know how many soldiers have died in Iraq

5. You don't know where Darfur is. Or what Darfur is.

6. You don't know what NAFTA is, or what it even STANDS for.

7. You don't know how much money is being spent every day on the war (you don't have to know the EXACT number, even the slightest estimate will suffice).

8. You are voting for Obama because he's black

9. You are voting for McCain because he's white

10. You are voting for McCain because his running mate is a woman

11. You are voting for either canditate because of their religion

12. You can't name AT LEAST 5 of the rites given to us in the constitution

PLEASE DO NOT RUIN THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE YOU ARE UNINFORMED.

I think I just knocked out 80% of voters right there....

GET INFORMED BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO VOTE

How close do we have to be on the amount of soldiers who have died in Iraq?

JonTheLast
10/04/08, 04:05 PM
haha i suppose +/- a thousand will do

Seriously though the point of me posting this isn't to say that I know all of the issues. I DEFINITELY don't. As a matter of fact, NOT knowing much about the issues prompted me to write this post. Because I realized that ALOT of people don't know shit about what's going on, including me. And my hope would be that people educate themselves before blindly voting for either candidate.

I don't recall seeing this when I go to vote... I think if people can get the main idea of what each candidate stands for as far as certain issues go (the war, the economy, global warminghealth care, illegal immigrants), then you should vote. Telling people not to vote because of a certain set of criteria is pointless.

I'm sure this list is really going to discourage people from voting.

You better not be voting this year.

Or should I say: YOU better NOT be VOTING this YEAR.

Yeah, only this is ruined because some religious zealots in the middle of the country (and/or deep south) are going to be voting McCain solely because he opposes Roe v Wade. And/or solely because they think Obama is a muslim terrorist. I think the people most likely to listen to this list are the apathetic 18-25 year olds that think not voting can act as some form of protest against a two pary system.

You do acknowledge that people will vote for Obama soley because hes black and supports the Roe v Wade decision, right? Just making sure :).

of course, it was just mentioned in his list so I figured it was covered. :) There are probably also tons of women out there who are going to vote for Obama because he's more attractive or men who'll vote for Palin because she's a milf.

Not to mention this election you will also be voting for house representatives, mayors, committee members, etc. Why should knowing about an issue like Darfur be a prerequisite for electing a local position who has nothing to do with international policy?

1.2 mil iraqis compared to 4,000+ us soldiers
hmmm???
also the fucked up 18 suicides per day of us war veterans from iraq
(the amazing 4th reich is on the rise woohoo:-|)

I just had to comment on this piece of absolute bullshit. I know you should be at least somewhat informed, but according to this guy, I am not allowed to vote because I forget what NAFTA stands for? Even if I have been following the election for a year and a half, know a lot of differences between the candidates, and firmly believe in one of them because I feel he is the best choice for our country? At least I am taking a fucking side. At least I have an opinion. Too many people dont even bother to have that. So please, people, VOTE. Dont listen to this idiot.

most people that are interested in voting will educate themselves anyway, no need for this list.

This thread reminds me why I don't give a shit about undecided voters, especially when it comes to polls. If you're 25 days from election and you still don't know who you're voting for then you probably shouldn't be voting.

if knowing this shit really mattered, they would make you answer these questions before voting.

No, they wouldn't because it's unconstitutional because it's restrictive of voting rights. They did it to African-American men, and that was bullshit. I don't agree with the poster but educating yourself on the issues matters tremendously.

You people are negatively commenting on someone who says people should make educated votes? wtf.

You people don't care that "the leader of the free world" is chosen by people who only read headlines or talking points.

I'll be voting McCain so The Daily Show and The Colbert Report wont run out of material.

i agree with some of the things on this list mostly just 8-11 (race, sex and religion are not legitimate reasons to vote for someone) but a lot of that i just think is unnecessary.

But i do agree that every voter should somehow get informed on where the candidates stand on the issues before they vote
