Is one of the most irritating people on tv or in movies. I tried to give her a shot after she was decent in Knocked Up and her Target lady on SNL, but after watching the yoga scene in the extended Forgetting Sarah Marshall I've come to the conclusion that I can't stand the lady. That scene, much like everything else she does, is not funny at all.

Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking this.

She could do better. But yeah the Yoga scene wasn't that great.

I thought she looked quite good in the Yoga scene in that movie, which is odd because I didn't find her attractive in anything else.

She can be pretty funny sometimes, but she's pretty much doing the same shtick over and over

EVERYONE in comedy right now is doing the same things over and over.
That's why good comics can be diverse with their jokes and not rely on the same sarcastic tone or character to carry them through their career.

See: Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, etc. .... their careers have stalled due to regurgitating the same shit ad nauseum. Good comics refuse to pigeonholed themselves to the same thing over and over, which Wiig is beginning to do.

Kinda like picking the smartest retard in HS. That show is fucking awful and has been for 5+ years.
Wrong, try again.

See: it isn't her fault the writers on SNL right now are sub-par. That's the only thing wrong with the show right now, and why she seems to play the same characters so often. I would love to see her play different types but at the same time it's not really her call. It's not like she rolls in on Monday morning and goes "hey guys can I play an eccentric woman with an odd voice!?!?"

The people who trash SNL are the ones that don't watch it every single week which in my opinion, makes their opinion worthless.

SNL has gradually gotten funnier and funnier over the years. It's almost to that point where they've got the right group of people to make it work week in and week out.

You don't have to watch it every week. You could've grown up getting permission from your parents to stay that late to watch the show every Saturday night, and now that you can stay up that late on your own you don't care to because every time you watch the show you barely laugh, let alone smile.

Hypothetically speaking anyway.

As for Kirsten Wiig, since I don't watch it every single week, I get a healthy dose of her in movies, since everyone loves her. See: Knocked Up, Brothers Solomon, Walk Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Semi-Pro, Bill, Ghost Town. Sometimes they're just small roles, but even a little Kristen Wiig makes me laugh.

Anyone defending SNL is sadly mistaken. Compared to its best years (I'm not just talking about the original cast circa Bill Murray), it's in a sad state.

Writing wise, they seem to only worry about the first five minutes of the show. "Hey, let's get Tina Fey to come on AGAIN and do Sarah Palin so CNN will talk about us on Monday like we're 'edgy' and relevant". After the tolerable and sparingly funny opening skit, the show is an emotionally damaging downhill wreck. I used to love the digital shorts (Samberg!), but even those have been completely "off" this season.

Seth gets some good zingers in on Weekend Update but, altogether, it's just not worth sitting through the entire 90 minutes...though I continue to do so in some sort of vain attempt at having faith in what they could be and - more importantly - what they should be.

We live in a completely ridiculous world right now, and there is no excuse for them to not be completely inspired just by watching headline news for five minutes.

Sad state of affairs.

They had the perfect group at the beginning of last season but unfortunately I think the cast will start to get worse before the writing catches up.

I would disagree with most of that except that you are correct that the digital shorts have for the most part been poor this season.
