Uh oh, I can already feel some hostility.

OK, I loved the self-titled CD. That's what got me into the whole emo / screamo genre. Before that, I listened to nu-metal, and I apologize. So, yeah, The Used. Gotta represent my roots.

But holy shit. The new CD is the biggest piece of garbage. Ever.

I was desperately hoping they would go in a harder direction. I mean, anyone who listened to the hidden track and the track from the '03 warped compilation (Just a little, I think) knows that they had some pretty rockin stuff.

And then I heard the single. Take it away was pretty good. I was thinking "hey, maybe I can handle this."

So I got the CD. Oh my god. There were maybe 3 songs I could handle. The rest was Taking Back Sunday, Simple Plan, and big steaming piles of shit all rolled into one neat little package.

So, bring on the negative scene points from the teenyboppers, but that's how I feel.

I disagree...The new album is amazing. I get that they're supposed to be heavy like the last disk, but come on. The wrote some amazing songs for this album. I would've been mad if they made the same cd again.

I totally agree with the first cd being a lot better, and wow, I noticed that a LOT of the songs did sound like other bands as well.. Some ppl didn't believe me, so I'm glad I know someone who noticed it too! But, I do have to say that I do like the cd, just not as much as the first one... I'm behind The Used all the way, so I hope they make another album. (and I really hope I don't get bad scene points fer this... I've been trying to be a good little girl ever since I saw how many negatives I have... bleh)

ok..the used is one of my favorite bands! their other album was awsome! this new one..i was a little sad that there wasnt as much screaming...it was a little more low key. But i still like it. I think the new album is good....but could have been better.

i prefer the new albumn. it has less screaming; i prefering singing. it is catchy and poppy and pleasing to my ears. I do agree that they are on their way to becoming the next Good Charlotte. They basically understood that "Taste of Ink" was making them popular and bringing in cash, and decided to go that route instead of going a harder, more darking route.

It is true. well i don't know for sure about his parents kicking him out, but he ended up on the streets do too his fucked up drug addictions. He still does an insane amount of heavy drugs, but also claims that rehab helped him.. makes you wonder how bad it was before.
