my friend and i were in a heated discussion about what you should wear to a show. do you wear a shirt of a band thats playing, a shirt of a band that you like, or do you just wear a plain coloured/printed shirt?

dont be that guy/girl that wears a shirt of the band you are seeing. i wear whatever band t i can find. as long as its not of the band im seeing.
wear whatever the fuck you want, but avoid spiky/studded shit if you're gunna be in a pit, thats annoying as hell gettin jabbed with.

I understand that its a rule, I just don't know why. its okay to wear the shirt of the band if you bought it at THAT show tho, correct?

honestly. who cares. wear whatever the fuck you want. who actually "plans" what they're going to wear to a show. that's so weird.

I think it's typically expected that you dress formal. Tuxedos with long coattails, canes, monocles and tophats for the gentleman and full ballroom gowns with long white gloves for the ladies.
I never got that whole 'act like you don't like them' shit.Like don't wear the band's shirt you're seeing and don't come to the show listening to them or leave the show listening to them. That has to be some of the dumbest shit the scene has ever come out with.

i dont understand what difference it would make. you people are putting WAY too much thought into this. just go to a fucking show, wear whatever you want, listen to whatever you want while your coming or going. does it really fucking matter that much? my god.

haha. :lol2:
Cause it's all about scene, like the kids that go to shows and stand there looking pissed off and sneering at people having a good time. The trick is to seem like you're having a bad time and not supporting the band by not wearing their stuff or listening to it. oooh yeah.
When I see people like that at gigs I think "wouldn't you of prefered a night in playing scrabble?"
I wear kilts and a bring a bagpipe with me and then once I get there I realize that neither Dropkick Murphys nor Flogging Molly are playing and then I get emosad.

I came here just say that.
I really don't understand why people need to dress up a certain way when they're going to a concert. just wear whatever's comfortable.

Well it's just because you look retarded wearing a band shirt of the band that's playing. Everyone knows you listen to them. You are at the show.
yeah but honestly, does it really matter? because i couldnt give less than a fuck what other people think about the way i look.

I used to wear a plain tshirt and dickies because I thought I'd get beat up and called a poser if I wore my skater clothes but at this point I don't care. Plus I'm going to different kinds of shows now.

I usually just wear whatever i find first. I don't go to impress anyone, just to enjoy the show as much as possible.

I just wear whatever I pull out of the closet. It's never really that much of an issue.

What if you pull out two pairs of pants and a pair of shin guards, would you wear that?

I hate when people make a big deal about going to a show. You should be there to see the bands, not to care what people think of your clothes and to talk about other peoples clothes. Just go to the show and enjoy. Whenever I take a friend from work to a show and its one of the only concerts they have gone to their always like...what should I wear?!?! So stupid, just put on a shirt and pants and lets go.

i try not to be "that guy". i usually wear a t-shirt (whether it's a band shirt or not depends on what i feel like, although i'd never wear a band shirt of the band i'm seeing), jeans, and my vans.

i'd say wear whatever you don't mind getting sweatied up.

yeah. i agree. I laugh at the people who wear mini skirts and really expensive shoes and clothes that they obviously don't want people to touch.
Me personally, I just wear a tshirt and jeans.

Well, I'm not about to tell you what you "should" do, so I'll just tell you what I do. If a have clean one handy (this is about half the time because I go to about 3 shows a week) I wear a black or dark blue button up otherwise a band t-shirt, jeans, and obviously I never wear sandals (I made that mistake at my first Warped Tour and lost two toenails and may have broken a toe, I'm not sure, it was too bloody to tell).
Also, I hate to admit it, because I do everything in my power to avoid being scene, but for whatever reason it really bothers me when people buy a shirt at the show and then immediately put it on. i don't know why and I'm not trying to be a deuschebag but I always groan whenever I see that. On the other hand, I don't mind people wearing shirts of the band they're seeing (provided they didn't get it at the show), generally what I mean is like a shirt from a previous tour. I've never done it, but when I see it, I know that that person isn't just there for the radio single. Which also pisses me off, that is to say, when people leave after hearing the single....
Sorry for the essay.

What the fuck is up with girls and sandals at a show? I always laugh at the results...

Don't even try to show up to a show if you aren't wearing Zubaz. You will get your ass beat so fast.
