the review I found that set list in said the venue was about half full haha
and it looks like the venue the tour is playing at here is blocking off half of the arena for the show

That's a TERRIBLE setlist by Dashboard. Also, speaking of venue capacities, I was confused to see that the tour is hitting the Tsongas Arena in MA (about 7-8,000 capacity) and the 9:30 Club in D.C. (never been, but to my understanding its about a 800-1,200 capacity). It's just weird.

I dont think the set list by Dashboard is TERRIBLE by any means...yes it is severely lacking, but I think it is decent. It is just hard because he has so much good material and only getting a 11-12 song set severely limits what he can do:(
and yeah...my venue is a 6000 person venue but it looks like they are only using half of it by putting the stage in the middle of the floor, but like an end stage setup

"Twist and Shout" and "Shout" are both Beatles covers of Isley Brothers tunes (or Isley Brothers covers of tunes, in the case of "Twist and Shout").
So, my question is, which one of those songs was the one PATD covered?

Huh, that sounds oddly familiar. Oh, yeah! It's because it's the exact same shitty set list they played on Honda Civic Tour!
And I mean the exact same. Couldn't throw in "From a Mountain" or “Build God” that just might make them have to perform musically?
Oh well, still going. I'm such a tool.

highly urgent and important question for all you guys who've been to a rock band live show -
what position is PATD in the order of the four bands that play (i.e. second? last?) and about what time do they come on (8pm, 10pm..?)?
much appreciated.

oops - you're right. sorry. i was scanning the thread for set lists and i passed over someone confirming that they do indeed play last.
i'm going to the Everett, WA show which starts at 7pm. on their myspace, PATD is listed for starting at 8, but that seems awfully wrong to me - can anyone hazard a guess as to when they actually begin, assuming the show starts at 7? i'd imagine PATD would be on around 9 or 10?

Yeah they covered "So What" by P!nk... which I find very unusual
I have heard mainly positive things about the tour, but I've also heard some terrible things. Most Fans of Panic and Dashboard have been raving about it saying it's phenomenal... Other people who arent huge fans have been bashing it a ton.
The PATD setlist this time around is a TON better than their Honda Civic Tour setlist was! They play 3 or 4 more songs on this tour than they did on the Honda Civic Tour. Im just very pissed they arent playing Camisado, Build God, There's a Good reason, or Do you Know What Im Seeing. But I'll get over it...
Apparently all the bands perform to their best, except Plain White T's. I read a pro review of this tour on a LosAngeles newspaper website, and the reviewer said that Tom, the lead singer, had terrible pitch and went flat on a ton of notes....so that is gonna be awful to hear
I'm going to the Nov.4th tour and I'll write a review of it...I hope it's a step UP from the HondaCivicTour!!

I went on friday and came away wishing that Dashboard would have headlined. The Cab was decent, nothing amazing but ok. I thought plain white t's did really well, had alot of energy and was really fun. Dashboard Confessional teared it up. They did SO well. The energy was insane and they did an amazing job all around. Sounded great and put on a great show. I must say that I was HIGHLY disappointed with Panic! at the disco. They had no energy, were really boring, and they sound nothing like their cds. Their lead singer has a good voice and is capable of singing like the CD but sang everything different. When a song came on it took me almost the whole verse if not the chorus to figure out what they were playing. I'd recommend going if you like Dashboard but in my opinion don't waste your time on Panic! Dashboard should have headlined this without a doubt. "Co-headline" my ass. Panic has headlined it every tour so far and they shouldn't get to.

Actually, at the Seattle show the PWT's put on a pretty good show and I am not even a fan of them. The Cab singer was flat and off a bit at that show, which surprised me because I have seen them before and he was dead on. It is hard to judge bands on a tour like this because it is in an arena and the sound is generally pretty crappy.
Dashboard was very good for how short of a set they had to play. Chris was kind of acting like a douche, but he still sounded amazing!
I went to the "Denver" show on Friday and I really enjoyed it. The arena was the Broomfield Events Center (which is actually 20-30 minutes outside of Denver) which holds somewhere from 6,000-8,000 people, and it was only half-full. Now, Panic sold out the Fillmore (3,000) on the Honda Civic Tour so I honestly think it would have been more full if they didn't choose a venue that was so far outside the city. Having said that, it was one of the best crowds I've ever been in. We got there right at doors time and still managed to get barricade on the far right side. There was no shoving and pushing, and didn't have any troubles with drunk people or rude people pushing their way to the front.
The Cab was awesome, I've seen them 5 times now this year. Their set wasn't anything spectacular since it was pretty much the same stuff, although having seen them on their Why So Serious tour, I'm fine with that since they played more of a variety last time. The Cab invited everyone to a nearby Denny's after the show to hang out with them (more on that later).
Saw Plain White T's open for Fall Out Boy on the Young Wild Things tour, and they were pretty good this time. I read the review of their album on this site and wasn't expecting much, but they put on a good show. I downloaded the songs they played after and found that the studio versions are very disappointing, they have way more to them when played live. Of course, Hey There Delilah got everyone singing but I felt good that I was one of the few people in the crowd who knew more than that one song.
I only knew 1-2 songs by Dashboard and wasn't too excited about them, but I enjoyed their set a lot and downloaded a whole bunch from them now. I wasn't bored the entire time despite only knowing a few tunes. Their cover of "So What" by Pink was without a doubt the highlight of the night. Great song. And Chris Carrabba has a great stage presence.
Panic was who I was looking forward to, and having not read anything about their set, wasn't sure what to expect. Their Honda Civic Tour show was both good and bad for me. Good in the fact that they had stage presence and actually connected with the audience, bad due to their setlist choice and how toned down the energy was. While the setlist they played for this show was equally weak (it was way too short, if they played longer they could have done more) but I felt that their show was more exciting and had more energy to it. When The Day Met The Night was probably the highlight. The mini-medley of Fever songs was cool, except they played both of those songs on Honda Civic. They played too few songs off of Pretty Odd, cutting a lot from Honda Civic (like my personal favorite, Folkin' Around, and also Pas de Cheval and Behind the Sea), but I know a lot of us still want to hear songs like Don't You Know What I'm Seeing, I Have Friends In Holy Spaces, The Piano Knows Something I Don't, She Had The World, and From A Mountain. (They cut Behind the Sea from the Rock Band Tour setlist, and they had cut I Have Friends in Holy Spaces by the time they got to Denver on Honda Civic).
I think it was the promoter who pushed for the shorter set times, because Dashboard didn't play very long either. If they both could have played longer, the show would have been better. I still enjoyed the whole night as a whole, having 4 solid bands put on 4 solid sets.
We then went to the nearby Denny's, and waited for the Cab who was supposed to be there at midnight (they arrived around 12:20). There were probably about 200 people who showed up so they were completely hounded, we got a chance to take a couple of pictures with them and say a quick couple of words. They don't have anything planned after this tour, so they are probably going to take a break. They've been to Colorado 5 times already this year, so I can't imagine how many more times they could make it.

Just wondering...how so?

Just wondering...how so?
He just wasnt himself AT ALL. Usually he is a humble nice guy and at the show a week ago he seemed either drunk or just trying to be a douche. Some quotes were "look at all these foxy ladies" "Hey baby come find me after the show you know where to find me." and he just seemed really fake about most of what he was saying.
I'm not sure what his deal was but I didn't like it at all....but like I said...amazing performance as usual.
I'm guessing he was trying to cater to the crowd that shows up at arena shows? lol
Anyways I'm looking forward to a more intimate and actual headlining show in the spring.

That is SO strange The Cab is playing "Can You Keep a Secret" and not playing "Take My Hand." Take My Hand is as popular as I'll Run or One of THOSE nights, yet they still dont play it?? Weird....

i went to the scranton date which technically wasnt part of the "rock band live tour" cause dashboard wasnt there, but that was alright since i saw them twice already
panic was pretty good. the crowd was lame.
the set was something like:
We're So Starving
She's A Handsome Woman
Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off
That Green Gentleman
I Constantly Thank God For Esteban
When The Day Met The Night
The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage
Northern Downpour
But It's Better If You Do
I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Its Almost Halloween
Nine In The Afternoon
Mad As Rabbits
Shout!
i guess the only difference is no medley and "its almost halloween"(which was a fun song)

never heard the cab before. just watched their music video for " ill run " on demand.
wow. they remind me way to much of a boy band. and the video itself was terrible. its just them jamming and some couple making out for the entire video.
really hard to watch.
UPDATE : i went on to watched AC/DC's music video for " highway to hell ". rock and roll.
that is all.

Reminds me of the Bamboozle Left show back in Oct 06...He was just acting like a total douche playing nothing but new songs. We were looking forward to his set all day, and left 5 songs in. On the way out we saw these people in the parking lot that were there JUST for Dashboard. I mean their car was decked out in as much D/C stuff you could think of, license plate at all. They were crushed at the set...

I still thought he sounded great while he was performing songs, but talking in between he was just being a douche.....I was also at bamboozle left and he sounded like crap there....I've seen him 10 times, and that was the only time he has ever sounded bad...the rest have been incredible......
why would you leave 5 songs into his set?! Sure it wasnt the usual dashboard set but it was still good...
cant wait for the headlining tour tho!:)

We just weren't digging it. At all. It was the last band of the night and we had a long drive home to Temecula. I think I fell asleep driving a couple times. Woke up and did it all again. Loved that weekend.

Does anyone have a recent Dashboard set? I looked on youtube and saw they played Saints and Sailors and just wanted to know if there were any more additions or subtractions.

they didn't play saints & sailors at the philly stop two days ago. they did play that lame ass cover of the lame ass pink song though instead of just playing el schorcho. grrr.
the spectrum in philly was pathetic. as someone above said, not even close to half filled. if they booked this as a club tour ( the factory ) im sure this tour would have been a huge sucsess. don't know what they were thinking with arenas.

Prudential Center in Jersey was barely 1/2 full (maybe 1/3 at most?) Was kind odd since Dashboard/Brand New filled up Madison Square Garden in December of '06 but who knows...

i went to the one in philly, the stadium was half empty... ? it's beyond me why they would pick the biggest arena in the city. panic is big, but the entire top level was empty, along with the whole back of the 1st level.
the show was awesome, but they didn't play and encore. it was weird. plus panic played all of their singles, it was great but a little predictable. i wish they would have thrown in a few randoms. =/

I went last night and I had a great time. I know lots of people have been talking about how they can't sell out the huge arenas they've been going to and it hasn't been that great, but I really had a great time and I think anyone whose a fan of any of these bands will agree. The Cab didn't sound as great as they did when I've seen them before, but for some reason the acoustics where really messed up. I was on the floor, but I had some friends in seats that said they couldn't understand anything when the bands would talk between songs. Did anyone else who went last night have this issue?

yeah its a standard that acoustics in arenas are pretty piss poor, dead centre on the floor is the best place to be, get too close and youre almost missing all the sound from the PA, and on the sides its not really aiming at you anyway so you get a bad sound

The tour was great! PWT's kinda sucked, the Cab was great but the singer was kinda rough and tough to understand. Dashboard had the crowd energetic and their cover of "So What" had everyone moshing (some people even got hurt!) Panic was amazing, and put on a great show.
The arena was very VERY empty... they should've gotten a venue that was at least half the size for this. Rock band portion....wtf!? this was utterly un-necessary and absurd...also was very boring
Overall it was a great concert.... would've been better without the rock band part
Mr.Piano93

To PleasureRyland- the acoustics and speakers in the Seating portion is terrible. I was up front in the floor this time, but from previous experiences at the Gwinnett arena, i've had a tough time hearing in the seats

It was amazing! I got to play Rock Band on stage! Me and my "band", The Try-2-Hards" did RATM's Testify, and were then let out onto the floor so I can see PATD. Not bad, considering I got the tickets for free.
