saw em last night up here on campus with the matches and motioncity soundtrack (didnt stay for matchbook romance) and oh my god do they blow my ass. not only are the exact same band as the used are, they're managing to put an unorigianal twist in there by adding some senses fail too. after the first song was ending, the singer went up to the guitarist and asked him if he wanted to commit suicide.

"do you want to commit suicide?"

I really can't stand them, myself. :headshake Their songs sound so similar; there's not any creativity, and the fact that they sound like the Used doesn't make them any better in my book. Honestly, I expected alot better when I saw their album; even though I got it for free, I still consider it a waste of my money.

FFTL is probably one of the first bands on my list that suck dick. They are not a good band period. Everything about them sucks. The only reason they are so popular is that girls think they're hot.

It doesn't bug me that they are unoriginal, but they are just too mediocre. Yes, the drummer is talented, but the cd itself has only 2 good songs. 2 good songs aren't enough.

fear before doesnt exactly rip of botch. to be influenced by botch is different. they were influenced. while they do sound similar, fear before is far less talented yet they use many different styles in chord progession and they also have a very different song structure than botch ever did.

The bridge of "94 Hours" (in addition to the rest of the album) is amazing. That double bass drumming goes on for 15-20 seconds.

since when was as i lay dying a "small group".. and just because they have double bass doesn't mean they're drummer is good. there are ALOT of drummers that are 1000 times better then him..

I personally enjoy From First to Last, and I don't think they sound too much like the Used. The Used are much more radio-friendly than FFTL. But whatever, I'm not going to rip on anyone's musical tastes. I don't particularly like AILD, and the double-bass action gets to be a bit much for me, but other than that, more power to them.

I'm pretty neutral on them right now. I haven't really listened to much of their stuff. Although, I did see them a while back when they opened for Bad Religion and Rise Against. It wasn't very good. They were not one of the better bands I had seen in a while.

yeah. that was a good tour. i missed FFTL that time, thank you god. that was the last time i think ill ever be able to see rise against again though. they sold out the metro 2 shows next month, and ill be damned if i go to a sold out show, unless its a refused reunion show.
plus, rise against, all "fuck clear channel and corporate music industry" has an acoustic set up on MTV.com.
