Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday Announce

Co-Headlining Tour In Spring 2005



Chicago, IL - Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday have just announced
that they will embark on a five week North Amercian Co-Headlining tour
this spring. Taking Back Sunday was voted Artist of the Year by the
Alternative Press readers as their sophomore album WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and hit Rolling Stone's Top
albums of 2004. Jimmy Eat World's 4th album FUTURES just made Best of
2004 lists in Rolling Stone, Spin and Blender. Both acts are excited
about the tour, which starts in Champaign, IL on April 10. The
Champaign show, along with dates at the State Theater in Detroit, MI,
the Continental Airlines Arena in Rutherford, NJ and the Dunkin Donuts
Arena in Providence, RI will go on sale next week. Check www.jimm

I would think, and hope, that Jimmy Eat World will still play last and that all the Co-Headlining thing means is equal set times and equal billing on promotions and stuff (Rather than JEW with special guests Taking Back Sunday, it'll just be JEW & TBS. Period.)

I really want to see JEW and I've yet to hear TBS play a lot of the new stuff (last time I saw them was Warped Tour), which may be a good thing, but whatever. I'll have to see if it actually comes to Cleveland and if it does, where it is and how much it'll cost.

i think a big reason why they do this is b/c Jimmy Eat World probably couldnt sell out a whole arena on their own...and obviously neither could taking back sunday
so by puttin them both together, they'll sell way more tickets

the sets are probably going to be equal in length. normally opening acts have shorter sets than the headliner, thats why its coheadlining.... they probably will alternate on who opens the show, but they both will have headliner long sets.

If you're gonna dissect the categories or what not, JEW's new album is probably more "mainstream" than TBS'. A lot of the kids are more into that kinda rock stuff than TBS' minor screamage.

while jimmy eat world has recieved more radio and mtv play they don't have the same recent teenage fan wave that tbs has found. jimmy eat world has alot more older fans. Jimmy eat world is better and more popular but i'd say tbs is more familar to teenage fans with only 2 albums.

If it's here in Cleveland, chances are it'll be at Akron's JAR Arena (University Of Akron's basketball arena, sorta small - maybe 4000) or CSU's Convo Center. If it's in the spring (which it appears it would be, I'd say either Scene Pavilion (outdoor on the water, YC and SoCo played there last year) or Tower City (a long shot, since it's the Warped venue).

In Nashville back in October, that tour hit here, and it was fucking awesome. TBS BLEW me away. I'd heard so much shit about their live show...and how much it sucked. But the band totally blew me away, and played two encore songs. Adam was just belting out the songs with such emotion, my favorite part of course being the breakdown on "180 By Summer"...man...the other bands were good too, but TBS definitely stole the show and had the crowd going nuts.

I wish TBS would stop off in Nashville again on this tour and play Rocketown again...they stopped off in Nashville on the Blink 182/No Doubt tour, but I didn't get to go to that one...they played with local bands, very cool of TBS to do that. They said at the concert that they love Nashville. I'm sure every band says that about every city...but them stopping off and playing with local bands after the Atlanta show shows maybe they were sincere when they said it.

Either way, I hope they play in Nashville again at Rocketown, it's a good small club with a great atmosphere and a good close intimate feel with the band.
