I was going to this tour and really looking forward to seeing Bayside but when Kent State announced Lupe Fiasco was playing their "Home Coming" concert, I got a ticket for that and sold my ticket for this show. Thankfully after hearing Shudder I know I won't regert it in the least.

Definitely. They are a great band. Very under rated. They have 2 cd's out. You should check them out. Thier cd's are called "This could be a possibility" and "All we need is a reason to believe".

definitely want a setlist for all 4 bands on this tour...one of the most solid lineups for a tour all year if I must say so....it's not on the same level as Thrice/Alkaline Trio/Rise Against/The Gaslight Anthem, but it's probably a close second....the most solid all around show I've seen so far this year was in late July when I saw The Honorary Title/The New Frontiers/Paper Rival/Mansions/Sink The Bismark....that was a great great show that didn't have a dull moment

Very solid show overall. I think valencia should get one more song so they can add in other old one like Que Sera Sera or Away We Go.

I know the matches don't like playing old stuff but they seriously should at least play 2 songs from their first album. One just doesnt cut it. The Matches Guitarist was playing with one finger the whole set because I guess he broke a finger and 3 of his fingers was in a splint. It was very impressive

It's sad, but E Von Dahl is just not a priority for the boys anymore. Notice how different it is compared to ABIH. See the direction they went? I mean I live in the boys hometown area and we only get a few E Von Dahl songs every now and then. And, just gonna throw this in there, I would much rather them play Dog Eared Page than Chain Me Free.

Anyways, I asked because I have seen him play before, but I thought since maybe I've only seen him play to a hometown crowd he'd be a little less nervous wherever else. I just got back from the concert. It was really good. Honestly I was really disappointed in Bayside. They had an off night. I've seen them before and they were sweet but tonight they seemed mad and tired. It also has to do with the sound guys at the venue cuz they were terrible but it doesn't make up for the boring performance. The Matches were off the hook! They were amazing! They had problems with the sound gys too but made jokes and had a good time. They were absolutely incredible! MUST SEE! Lol.

Very solid show overall. I think valencia should get one more song so they can add in other old one like Que Sera Sera or Away We Go.

I know the matches don't like playing old stuff but they seriously should at least play 2 songs from their first album. One just doesnt cut it. The Matches Guitarist was playing with one finger the whole set because I guess he broke a finger and 3 of his fingers was in a splint. It was very impressive

Bayside absoulutely tore the place down. With a 19 song set you cant ask for much more.

Ya I was on the front row so i typed it in my phone before they were done setting up. lol. But I've seen bayside before and they were awesome. Sadly I just went to a crap venue. It was one of the first shows ever at the place. It had no signs, it was just pained, one speaker directly in front of me literally caught on fire while matches played. So I wouldn't say it was Baysides fault but they just seemed ticked the rest of the night so it wasn't as fun as i'd seen them before. But you should be fine. Have fun at it

I wasn't too fond of Valencia and The Status, and The Matches were a bit of a letdown.

I love Valencia, but I was mad that the crowd was so dead when they were playing. The Matches were pretty good, but it have been better if they played a longer/different set.

I think seeing The Matches open for anyone in the Bay Area is going to be weird since they can normally sell out Slim's on their own. There were these girls behind me who kept saying "who the fuck is this band?", and I guess because I'm so used to everyone in the room knowing the words or at least who they are it felt weird. I've seen them twice (and going on three times with this tour) and I don't understand it, either. I've tried to get into them. I've listened to a lot of their songs over the course of the past two or so years, but only one or two of them even somewhat stuck with me. There's just nothing particularly special or interesting about them to me. I always thought of them as somewhat boring live, as well, but that could just be because I'm not a fan of theirs to begin with. I'm not trying to pick on anybody's tastes here but I am genuinely wondering the same thing.


And anyway... I'm seeing this tour November 4 and I couldn't be more excited.

I've seen them do it a few times, they like to play it "in honor" of San Francisco when they're in the Bay Area. They do a great version of it, but I don't know if they'll do it outside of here anymore.

honestly, i don't really know why i like any band. it's just what appeals to me at first listen, and i think, "hm, this is good. i like them." i've been a big fan of bayside for quite a few years. i love his voice, i love their music, i love the lyrics, i love their stage presence, i love their live shows, i love everything about them. i know that the guys in the matches are really talented and put on a good show...they just don't appeal to me as much. it's just a "to each his/her own" thing, in my opinion..

Sometimes certain bands just do it for you, and some don't. I am not about to bash the matches because i have been listening to them probably as long as i have been listening to bayside, and i have seen bayside live 2 times but the matches none.

here it goes...

To me, Bayside represents everything that is good about the music in the world today. Beyond the fact that I fucking love every song from their 4 albums (theres also the stuff before sirens i dont really listen to and the acoustic and live album i don't listen to a whole lot). The lyrics are so real and genuine and the live energy is 2nd to none. The lyrics, especially on Sirens and Condolences are simply raw emotion and can connect to (almost) any fan on any number of levels. Not to mention that Anthony seems like a real genuine dude.

I find myself rooting for Bayside everytime I hear something about them. There is just an energy about this band that I cannot explain...it's just there. I really feel for Anthony when he writes the lyrics that he writes.

Not to mention it is all catchy as fuck.

I hope you start to enjoy bayside one day, you will thank yourself.

I can usually list at least a few specific things about my favorite bands that make them my favorites. Sadly is doesnt sound like theyve changed at all or rather the album seems like they are on the same level as they have been for a long time. The show in MA sucked. I mean, Bayside was spot on, but the show was at a new venue and security was WAY too harsh. Dudes in maroon suits were standing throughout the crowd for the whole show and stopping anyone who was jumping around or starting a pit. Anthony noticed and was visibly upset, but there was nothing he could do (in fear of getting the show shut down). They cut a few songs and people really only had fun during "Devotion and Desire" (last song, "fuck it" attitude). I hope no bands I like ever play there again.

well, i saw the tour 3 times, and they played the same set everytime, so i'd assume it was the same in nyc. they played point me toward the morning, their city, sick little suicide, what katie said, papercut skin, salty eyes, yankee in a chipshop, wake the sun, sunburn vs the rhinovirus...and something else, but i don't remember.

the show at The Stone Pony was great. Valencia was awesome, didn't like the Matches at all, and Bayside was unbelievable. Really good time.
