The first album is about love. It will help you to understand the second album better. Basically, the whole second album is about the lead singer's girlfriend, who is in the band on the first album. So the first one's more upbeat and has a chick singer as well. Check it out.

Haha I'm listening to Aeroplane right now. I also didn't find out about them from BN. A friend showed them to me back in '06. I don't really see a comparison either. Slight comparisons maybe, but it's completely different music. You should give these guys a chance again though, they take a few listens to sink in for most.

i felt the same way. but really, she's not even on every track. theres only a couple songs where her vocals are really key, usually they're just singing harmony or compliments on occasion

Yeah I don't think it was ever going to be like that because of the fact that album was very specific to his break up with his girlfriend. This is a real catchy number, and of course hopefully there will be some of the musical stylings of First Days Of Spring too, cus that albums fantastic.

It'll probably still be great. I enjoy their poppy stuff but nowhere near as much as their last album, oh well.

It lacks the honest quirkiness that existed in Five Years Time & the rest of Peaceful the World Lays Me Down. I'll have to wait until I hear the rest of the album, but between the electronica & a forced lyricism that is neither reminiscent of PtWLMD, nor the simplistic, repetitive heartbreak of First Days of Spring.

I guess we'll see.

New album gets better and better with each listen. Glad Charlie is a lot more upbeat on this release regardless of lyrical content, show's he's over the past to me and is just having a good time making music again.

Shape Of My Heart is my favourite from the album. The rest of the album is just kind of boring to me. I'm on holiday in a couple weeks, maybe I'll put it on while having a chill by the pool and see if it grabs me.

"dont get so down" is totally album-worthy and the old joy and the line demos are both incredible.

good god, everything about the "life is life" music video makes me want to denounce my fan'ship. it's awful. first off, the song is the worst song they've ever released. second, charlie's mic stand dancing? awful. the fact that his mic isn't even plugged in and it's the first thing i noticed, hilarious. the song is about a guy yet stares a girl....dumb. what the fuck is this band thinking?

blows my mind that their first 2 records are so amazing and now they're putting out garbage like this
