I didn't think it was encrypted...

But basically I loathe America's past time for the most part. Even though I pray for a strike (much like what happened in the NHL) if it has to persist then I say I want the Sox to win quick because if the series drags my house and big screen TV will be plaqued for a prolonged period of time lol. My roommate works directly for Larry, Tom and Theo. He gets texts and phone calls from all the players before and after games. He parties and hangs with them (Lester invited all of us to his house party for New Years). So our house is like an extension of Red Sox Nation - its obnoxious to no end lol. He specializes in player development and so Ellsbury and Jed and all the younger guys are the type of guys hes responsible for working with.

Still taking the Rays in this series. Home field advantage is going to play a huge factor in this, and the Rays have it. Best home field team in the majors won the season series against Boston. It's going to be a close one.

One thing I do predict though is at least 8 more sox fans appearing out of nowhere who haven't been here all year, making stupid comments, and furthering my general distaste for Red Sox fans.

Yeah. There's a lot of reasons for that.

1) 2 WS in 4 years will do that.
2) All of the loveable players that the 2003/2004 Sox had are gone. Damon, Millar, Mueller, Todd Walker - everyone that people loved to root for have gone (except Ortiz)
3) The current Sox roster is full of several players who are arrogant/cocky (Papelbon, Pedroia)

I chuckle at people saying "oh all these sox fans coming out of the woodwork now", the Rays couldn't even come close to selling out The Trop during the regular season, even with the 1000s of sox fans in there for the crucial end of season series in late Septmember. The playoffs roll around and the place is sold out.

There's a lot of reasons for that. The team is in St. Petersburg and traffic and parking is awful. They've never had a reason to even give a shit about baseball. Takes time. Every new franchise has that turning point, it's not like it's big news that the team is some bandwagon thing or anything. there are dozens of franchises who don't sell out until the playoffs.

Fenway could sit 70,000 and would still sell out every game. It currently seats about 37,000, and Tropicana Field sits about 35,000 for baseball games. Being a Red Sox fan in CT for the first 17 years of my life; anytime there was a discussion about baseball I heard nothing but "1918". Once we won in 2004 all I heard was "it won't take us 86 years to win another!" and finally Yankees fans were silenced last year. Red Sox have earned the right to shoot their mouths off.

There is no venue in North America that would sell out a 70,000 person venue every game for an entire baseball season. Or in any other sport with a schedule of as many games as baseball, basketball and hockey.

How were they not underdogs vs. the 100 win Angels?

95 wins in the al east > 100 wins in the al west
red sox 9 straight playoff wins over the angels
angels 7 game playoff losing streak
red sox 2007 world series champions

i'll keep going if you'd like me to

World Series Winners since 2000
Yankees-1
Red Sox-2
Marlins-1
White Sox-1
Cardinals -1
Angels-1
Diamondbacks-1

East Coast-3 titles
Midwest-2 titles
South-1 title
West Coast-2 titles

East Coast really dominates because they demand winning!
seven years since nba champions
10 years super bowl win if you consider denver west coast
and other than anaheim never won a cup, nordique team together for avs run

is this official or just what you'd do? i don't like holding lester till game 3 but i'll never doubt Tito's decisions.

i say sox in 6 like someone else said: split in the Trop, take 2 of 3 in Boston and close it out in game 6.

i think they wanted him to pitch at least one game in fenway because he is so dominant there. if you pitch him second he pitches game 2 and game 6, both in Tampa. (it is a 2-3-2 format right?)

the irony
Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm not proud of my faux pas, either. But for what it's worth, it was done in the name of shock value. I wasn't completely serious. It was just an (unsuccessful - very unsuccessful) attempt to be funny, and it blew up in my face, and several users perceive me as a total idiot as a result. For the most part, I brought the mocking onto myself, won't lie. The thing that upsets me is that I'm being ridiculed (albeit somewhat understandably) for stuff I said in jest. Doesn't totally excuse it, but I think it's worth pointing out.
