View Full Version : School Dress Code

Do some of you think that maybe the school dress code goes to extremes at times? I just recently found out that my school doesn't allow you to wear a white t-shirt because it's "gang related". Okay. . . . Now how many fucking colors do gangs wear now-a-days? Why not just ban all colors? It's fucking retarded. In no way is me wearing a white t-shirt going to affect anyone's learning. Now, I can see why girls/guys can't have barley any cloths on, that would distract anyone.

i personally think that's better than telling the kids they can wear what they want but then making a massive list of rules of stuff they're actually not allowed to wear.

my schools not too extreme on the rules. you just can't have drugs/alcohol on your shirt *not a problem whatsoever for me*

there's a rule at my school that says no hats, and it was originally made to eliminate gang bandanas and stuff. but they really get anal about it. like, i can't even wear my hood if it's raining. my locker is, like, 10 feet away from one of the doors, and one time it was raining outside, so i walked in with my hood on. after going to my locker, i headed for the door. i had one foot outside and the hall monitor got all prissy about taking my hood off. i told her it was raining outside (as if she couldn't see through the hallway MADE OF WINDOWS) and showed her my foot out the door, and she still made this sour face of refusal to be defeated and was all "well, take it off next time!"

we don't get hall monitors at our school, but i remember when i was in school (i'm in the school's college now --- we get to wear whatever we want as long as we don't dress like sluts) they had this rule where no one was allowed to wear a coat inside, but we didn't get lockers or anything, and even if we were just passing through the building we had to take our coats off or get detention. also, every kind of jewellery was banned, apart from 1 stud in each ear for girls, and a watch. i don't see the point in being so strict though.

i might sound like a dick for this but i agree.
theres this GIANT samoan girl at my school, and she dresses like a fucking whore
thats really distracting, because it's so disgusting. *when i say giant, i actually mean giant*
I think school's should ban fat girls from dressing provactively.Honestly, I think that should go for everyone, not just fat people. I mean, I don't care who you are, :headshake showing alot of skin doesnot look good. It just doesn't. It just makes you look like a slut. Personally, I don't like sluts, so there's my thought.

ok ok...how about...all hot chicks MUST dress like whores...all others can wear nothing but black sweat pants and sweatshirts.
ok ok...how about...all hot chicks MUST dress like whores...all others can wear nothing but black sweat pants and sweatshirts. No, I don't think you understand me, Richter. :headshake It is a complete turnoff for me, to say a girl dressed like a whore. It just doesn't interest me.
Really, as long as a girl looks classy in what she wears, and she doesn't wear something entirely against her body type, I'm for it.

i go to a private school and we have uniforms, but i remember when i went to public school...in 6th grade we had to tuck in our shirts and what not.
These days when we get free-dress days at my high school, they try real hard keep the underclassmen from dressing like whores because they have a tendency to do that. Slut Generation at its prime.

At my school the ONLY thing you wear at your own discretion is your underwear. Everything else you have picked out for you.

I went to a nudist school.
But then all the guys walked around with hardons, so they changed the dress code.
Now you can't wear your penis to school.
Sucks, too.

We have to tuck shirts w/o collars in...stupidest rule EVER made.
That's about it in addition to the normal, no nudity, no alcohol/drug related, etc... rules.

My private school gives us an option of like 40 polo shirts of various colors/designs that we can wear, as long as they have the logo on the collar. We can also wear button-down ones made by Quiksilver as long as they have the logo.

When I was in high school, they said girls can't wear tank tops because it promotes rape. A girl in another high school in our district was raped in the bathroom and she happened to be wearing a tank top so they decided it was her fault and banned them.
Guys still could wear them though which was bullshit so we would have days where almost every girl in school would wear a tank top and they eventually dropped the stupid rule because they realized they can't give us all detention.

hmmm. we can't wear bandanas anymore.. unless you have that nervous hair pulling disorder.. *shrug* it's not so bad here.. but if you go to Germany... no dress code.

That's actually pretty cool. My school has the generic dress code. No hats, not provocative clothing, etc. Hair color used to be enforced, but since there were so many ICP losers dying their hair pink and blue, they stopped that rule. It's not too bad, my in-school and out-of-school wear are pretty much both the same, so that's telling you it's not bad.

Our school dress codes suck. Seriously, it's as if it doesn't apply to the "popular preppy girls" at our school. They could walk around with their asses hanging out and no one would care. But if anyone else does, they get called on it immediatly. It's so stupid.
Plus, they won't let me wear my Taking Back Sunday shirt, which pissed me off.

Eh my school just has the regular "shorts have to stretch below the fingertips when hands are at sides" deal. One time the principal, who's a crazy bitch, told me my "circle jerks" shirt was offensive and inappropiate and continued to explain to me what a circle jerk was and why was it bad. I wish I had an audio recorder so I could blackmail that bitch

my school's uniformed [no, it's not catholic, it's just a uniformed public school] so there isn't much to say about the dress code there. i once got an indoor suspension though for wearing a breakfast club t-shirt instead of a plain black one under a button-up shirt and because the button-up was fitted. now whenever i see that vp, i run and hide; i'm hardly ever in actual uniform. i'm just so rebellious.
I just recently moved to a new HS that doesnt have a dress code. No one fights, no one feels any diffrent i mean i understand a few arguements about it but the overall problem lies in the brains for the administration. Yet, diffrent states, regions, diffrent problems im sure.

i go to a private boarding high schol and we havae to wear a blazer, collar shirt that is button down, a tie, and pants with no external pockets. and dress shoes
it sucks but since this is my senior year i havent tucked in my shirt once, worn a blazer once and never had my tie tightened to the neck, and for that i am a rebel at its best.
but it is nice to an extent because there is never any fights or hatered over who has more money because one kid shops at Bob's and the other one shops at Versaci. But the girls dress like whores, they are never in dress code, their skirt barely covers their ass and sometimes they dont wear underwear, and its fantastic.
