I just found out about 10 minutes ago that I got the job that I interviewed for a couple weeks ago. SWEETNESS! I'm working 15 hours a week at $8 an hour. I'm going to be doing research for the company because they're getting a new building and it's going to have a biomedical wing on it so I'll have to research what to do with biomedical wastes and stuff like that, basically try and figure out how they should have in that part of the building and stuff. I'm so excited! I don't have to worry about paying for rent anymore and will most likely have a job for the summer already. This is sweet!

Now I just gotta figure out how to juggle two jobs (which could total about 35 hours of work a week), school and soccer. Man, I thought I was busy before. :P

Congratulations. You get paid more than me an hour, I get $6.96....but I work 35 hours a week, haha.

But with your two jobs you equal my hours...no!!!

Lucky. That's what I hate about jobs though, you don't find out for weeks. And in my case I wait for nothing because I'm never hired, haha.

I get paid $6.50 an hour for my other job, but I can work as many hours a week as I want pretty much and I can do the work at my apartment. Which is nice because I can try and do a lot of that work on the weekends.

Lucky. That's what I hate about jobs though, you don't find out for weeks. And in my case I wait for nothing because I'm never hired, haha.
I was really worried that I wasn't going to get hired because they wouldn't think I had the time since I have soccer too, but I've been a student athlete for as long as I've known so I typically know how the manage my time fairly well, plus I don't party or anything on the weekends so I have more time then to do homework and stuff.

HAHA, I just had to edit how much I get paid. Its $6.96, not 7. I was typing what I wish it was.

Haha. It's so nice not having to be at school to do that work. I do webdesign stuff for the Mechanical Engineering department here at school. They have their own section on the college's website, but there's "Student Activities" page that has basically nothing on it, so that's what I'm doing...putting stuff on it...lol...I have Microsoft Frontpage at my computer at home, so I can do all the work there.

Yea, but it's nice because it's geared towards what I want to do. I'm in school to get a mechanical engineering degree, but I'm basically getting a messed up version of a biomechanical engineering degree. I'm going to pick up my biology classes after I graduate. I want to do work with prosthetics and stuff like that. I'd love to do biomechanical engineering stuff geared specifically towards athletes.

Holy crap you guys get paid squat for your time....last time I checked minimum wage in Cali was around $7.75 an hour and that was summer of '03, so it's sure to have gone up by now. I bet you guys still have 5 dollar movie tickets and can buy a bottle of coke for a quarter, can't you? I think that settles it,after I get out of the Corps I'm going to buy a giant lot of land in the middle of the country and build myself a castle.

Congrats on the new job Kara. I have a friend who works at a medical engineering company with his dad. He says it's actually pretty interesting, so I hope you enjoy it.

Well shit, I thought I'd be able to sleep in tomorrow since all my classes were canceled, but now I'm starting my new job at 8AM. I haven't woken up that early in a while. :/

hehe, yeah i know. she doesn't come on often anymore, only when someone threatens her post count, hehe. but me, i have been on for the past few days at random times. it is cool.

I know, I've noticed. You two should both visit more often, I'm sure the two of you would have a positive impact on the forum. It seems to be so negative lately. I guess I'm kind of adding to the negativity as of late, but oh well! That's what I do best. :)

I dunno...I'm starting to get bored with the forums at times or just all around sick of them, but yet I continue to come back. :)
