Jason, kinda off topic but are you still planning on posting your thoughts on the new FOB material? I know that first post got out of hand but some of us would still like to know what they sound like.

Hey Jason thanks for posting the releases again. I know I could always go elsewhere to find them and I do sometimes. This is better because people post if they like this or that album and also other albums are listed later that arent listed other places.

I got the Academy is record in the mail about a week ago. It is solid yet not as mind blowing as I thought it would be. Still very good to say the least.

The Lagwagon cd is great. The Capers voice is always on key and it sounds damn good. Like pretty much every Live in a Dive release actually. No Use For A Names 'Live in a Dive' release was spot on too.

If you've seen Lagwagon live you must of noticed how on cue the whole band is. I guess that's what playing for 14 years together will do to you.

Would Academy Is be in Best Buy stores?

Maybe, maybe not. The one around here rarely even has a Fall Out Boy record in stock so their knowledge of Fueled By Ramen bands might be pretty slim. OR it may just depend on what part of the country you are in. You can usually check to see if they have it in stores through the Best Buy website by putting in your zip code after you have found the cd you are looking for. Its not always accurate, but sometimes it helps.

I love tormenting the people that work there. Just for fun when they come up and ask me if "I need help finding anything" I always ask for something I damn well know they dont carry. I did this with Northstar's Pollyanna for about 5 months before they finally got it in stock.

hmm i'm gonna go with the academy is and maybe one of the compilations.

and it depends on the best buy...some of them carry a lot of good cd's but half of them really suck...which is why i go to separate record stores for new releases and the such.

Would Academy Is be in Best Buy stores?

Seeing as you live remotely close to me (neighboring states) I would assume your Best Buy will be carrying it. Ours usually does real well having 'underground' CD's in stock.

ya for sure, these guys are amazing...I got to see Lagwagon with NOFX and I gotta tell you, it was awesome.

Joey Cape's stuff with Bad Astronaut is pretty sick too, so check that out (I still think he's a little too good looking to be a punk rock frontman, ya dig?)

It's awesome man. We got it down at the station, and I'm not the biggest Lagwagon fan, but I dig hearing them live. That's how they were meant to be heard.

Yeah i have Bad Astronauts Acrophobe and Houston: We Have a Drinking Problem. That was an excellent side project.

I've read from numerous sources that making this last album Blaze gave some new life to the band. I was hoping they weren't gonna call it quits like Face to Face.

NOFX and LAGWAGON one night sounds like a dream come true. They only time i've seen NOFX was this past year at Warped. Nubs was there it was pretty damn cool they brought her out on stage.

Does it bother anyone when you walk in a best buy they always welcome you? I know it sounds stupid but some days I just want to come in and get my CDs and leave. They also kinda follow you around the store and ask do you need any help numerous times. I will come and find you if I need any help and like someone said above you ask them a question and they are like Who?

HA!!!

yeah no shit. Tell them to chill the fuck out. It's funny because not making them work on commission was suppose to give the shopper a bit more space. But they're all about the customer service so you get harassed anyways.

Oh well it could be worse you could be buying cds at HMV like me with the prices $15-$20 all the time.

I got a really good ferret sampler from hmv for $8.. cheapest i've ever even seen a cd there. I usually get mine from sunrise records, but they're pretty expensive too. Gosh, are there no cheap cd stores in t dot? :(

i was amzed to find Hopesfall-A types (if anyone cares its ok...nothing revolutionary but not horrible) in target...oh ya..and bright eyes...from my experience target and best buy are the only chain stores that have and good music and even then its gotta be pretty popular (ie fall out boy green day etc) to be carried in there

I pretty much order all my cds now. It's a pain waiting for them to get here but's it's cheaper and you don't have to go through the heartache of trying to find a particualr cd in this town. However if you are going to buy cds here the best place i have found is the HMV on Yonge st. Downtown it's the biggest section in Toronto for sure.

I agree. I didn't get mine till today (stupid college mail isn't open weekends), and it's really impressive. I agree with the review posted here, it just needs more tracks. Damned half hour cd's.

While we're on the topic of cd prices i'd just want to stick in a few words.

I live in sweden, and the "normal" price for cd's is 189 crowns these days, that 27 dollars right there. That's for most major label cd's, and for "independent" cd's it's around 159 crowns, that's 22 dollars. You don't really have it that bad, so stop complaining that damn much.

Ay, and in the UK you can expect to pay £13.99, that's about $26. Your CDs are frigging cheap! I remember getting a SoCo CD $10, I couldn't believe how cheap it was.

That happened to me today, actually... I spent 30 min running around Sunrise looking for the purevolume/dtr comp when finally I got someone to help me and they didn't have it. Like a true emo kid, I was about to cry. I ended up getting Rilo Kiley instead. That's a long ways away from me but I have to go down to Yonge anyways, my brother obsesses about this coffee shop and there's some used cd stores near it. I have too many bad cds so I'm going to see what I can get for them.
