View Full Version : Mae Everglow Story

Mae (www.whatismae.com): The Everglow- Like a storybook according to Dave Elkins, lead singer of mae. It is gonna be very reminiscent of childhood's past when you would listen to a storbook on tape. The songs will flow together like a novel and the album insert will have illustrations to go with the lyrics. This disc is very much a theme or concept album on the different stages one goes through in various relationships in life.

This sounds like a much better idea for a concept album than some of the other trash that has been floating around lately...I'm namely talking about Vendetta Red and their castration idea. Mae also did a nice job on the idea of a "B-Sides" album with "Destination:B-Sides". So far, this band has done no wrong. And do not hate on the fact that they're going on-tour with TSL, because that could be their best chance to make it big.

I really can't wait for this cd to be ripped.
I really can't wait to drop fifteen bucks of my hard-earned paycheck on this. Mae deserve my support, because this CD will save me.
...from the ever-worsening mainstream scene. If this CD is half as good as the hype, I will be able to listen to it on repeat without ever growing tired of it.

The lyrics are so amazing from mae
The best way to describe the new album is that it will give a better feel of their live show and it works so well. The concept is fricking amazing...wait til u hear this!!! it will blow your mind
The Everglow:
"I'm thinking we got what it takes to get the heart to start beating again and take it all of the way...whoaoah oah whoa well our hearts are on the everglow and deep inside we both know it everything's hanging on this moment...oh oh oh our hearts are on the everglow so just let go and fall into it"

haha well have u heard the new brand new album?? Mae is amazing and im sure the everglow will be unbelievable and i am definitely beyond jealous of you if you have heard the new mae album but if the new brand new is half as good as either deja entendu or yfw, no album this year will beat it. And i accept your bet.

i mostly agree with you on this one. Brand New is a pretty solid band, but i don't think they are the greatest thing ever like some people seem to believe after Deja Entendu. I have both of their CD's and they're good, but not the best. finally i do agree with you in saying that Mae's new album will be better than Brand New's.

Yeah I do like a little Vendetta Red occasionally, although the last album wears thin very fast, but what the fuck are they thinking with that idea for a concept? I know it may be a little obscure to random people browsing through cd racks but if anyone reads into it and checks the meaning behind it they're gonna get tons of "wtf's" in their direction.

i'm waiting to hear both before i pass judgement, but deja is my fave album of all time and mae's first two releases were merely solid in my humble opinion (like many tracks on b-sides more then on the album) but i am def looking forward to both.
as to the reason why some people think brand new is the greatest thing... well it's just every song on deja entendu made me think of a certain point in my life. if you wanted me to break it down song by song i could. and deja was my favorite album before i even knew about this site, so dont go off saying i just bought into the hype.
but as for this album... god i hope it's as amazing as you say it is. can never have too much good music
gotta hold it down for my boys just up the road

Brand New's will probably be delayed until 06...(TSL anyone?)
But it'll be worth it...

To have songs that sound different from the previous song, unlike "So Long, Astoria".

I like Brand New but they are given way too much credit. I enjoy both cds a lot, but some ppl. say their first cd is the best pop punk cd ever, which its not, IMO. Second, they say their second album is the greatest emo album or whatever, I just dont agree, but music is what you like so its cool either way.

I think that the point of all of this is that when mae's album is released I will cease attending classes or calling my girlfriend. When Copeland's cd comes out I will stop eating and sleep only a few hours a week. And if Brand New comes out with a cd this year I will take my iPOD and a car battery to charge it with and go become some sort of indie music monk in the woods.

I didn't include AFS....Holy crap. 2004 must feel like such a red headed step child right now. 2005 is just kicking it in the nuts repeatedly. Good thing that mewithoutyou, Underoath, Green Day, and Relient K are still holding it down like real thugs.
I just heard 2 of the new songs off the album and I must say WOW! I'd give my left nut for an advance copy of this CD RIGHT NOW! Best album of 2005 shall be The Everglow.
