So I'm a senior and my schedule is really light, so I was thinking about talking my college level math at the community college just to get it out of the way. Anyone done anything like this or is it no big deal to wait 'till college?

It's a great idea but make sure that the college you want to get into will accept the credits, if not, it's a total waste of your time. Try and take AP classes if you can. AP credits are transferrable almost everywhere.

well, if you're a senior and you're not in the AP classes already, there's no point in taking them now. i don't think that you'd even be allowed to. but ya, if you can handle it and take a class that you know you'll get credits for at a community college, do it.

Well if you got bad SAT/ACT scores but you've taken at least college algebra, they won't even look at the scores. That's why I'm taking it. well that and the fact that I'm a dumbass who only did 2 credits of math in High School.

go for it...if you can get in an ap class, do that instead, but community college math should be fine if you check to see if everything transfers beforehand.

Depends on your major? If you are going into a heavy math field then it wouldn't be smart unless you could do really well. I know when I was looking at AP classes, admissions recommends taking them as prep work but to retake them when you get to college. Since this is going to be the foundation for your major it's good to have a solid understanding of it.
Now if math is just a requirement and you're not going to continue taking math throughout college, then I say go for it!
