3.44, but I don't think GPA's are that good of an indicator of people's intelligence. I have a 3.44 GPA and a 25 on the ACT, but I've been measured with near a 170 IQ. Seems to be a problem there, doesn't it? :headshake :lol2:

I'm not in school anymore, but I had a 3.93 in high school and a 3.50 or 3.51 in college.

aminorthreat55
02/11/05, 09:03 AM
Oh yeah, I had like a 3.3-3.4 in high school. I don't actually remember what it was. I have a 4.0 in college though.

Mercy Medical
02/11/05, 11:01 AM
I had like a 3.6 in high school, so I'm not that far off. I missed making academic all american for soccer this year by 0.04. That was fuckin' stupid...

Mercy Medical

I once had a friend's mom tell me I could get better grades (this was in high school) if I applied myself more. I want to flip her off.

Mercy Medical
02/11/05, 11:14 AM
I get that all the time.

And it's true. The only reason I get bad grades is because I don't do homework, I don't study, and I just don't try.

I really suck at this school thing.
It was just stupid because I was getting good grades, so I have no idea why the hell she said it. Her daughter was getting worse grades and was in less advanced classes than me.

Mercy Medical
02/11/05, 11:18 AM
Haha, yeah.

I'd kill for a 3.6.

How the hell can you do better? I mean, a 3.6 is really good.

Stupid parents. They never know when to just shut up.
Well, I could do better if I got all As. I hate grades, I feel like my parents put so much pressure on me to get "amazing" grades and I feel like I'm doing fairly well especially when the majority of my classmates are either getting Cs or failing classes and having to take them all over again. I think that a 3.45 for a mechanical engineering student is damn good, I've only gotten one C thus far in college.

Kara and anyone in college would kill me because I have a 4.0 and do JACK SHIT. All I do is go to class and do whatever is graded and I have a 4.0, it's awesome. :lol2:

Honestly, I don't care. :headshake As long as I pass college, I don't have to really worry about anything like a GPA. After you get out of school, no one cares, except for whether you got the diploma or not.

I have 4.0 and I rarely study. School is really easy for me. I don't apply myself at all.

Actually it does if you want to go to grad school or any other masters or doctorate program.

Yeah my parents are psychos when it come to grades. Last year, I had a 3.93 the first semester and my mom almost had a heart attack. They fucking flip out over everything.

Actually it does if you want to go to grad school or any other masters or doctorate program. I consider those to be in the "college" bracket as well, since they are almost always directly connected with a pre-existing college. Thus, my comment still applies.

My mom saw my grades and asked what happened. I almost yelled at her. WTF I pulled up my grade in precal from a D to a C like she's been telling me to and the rest of my grades are 5 Bs and 1 A. Grrrr wtf

a college degree will not get you far anymore...especially with the way the economy is going...you want the highest degree possible.

4.1....but gpa's are garbage. I'm ranked 27 in my class of 337 with that gpa. #1 kid has a 4.288

My IQ usually ranks ~140, and my sats are 1390....so gpa isnt everything

we don't use this gpa system you speak of, but my average last semester was around 82%...

funny, my politics teacher kept saying that marks mean nothing and we shouldn't worry about them.

funny, my politics teacher kept saying that marks mean nothing and we shouldn't worry about them. Well, he's right. :lol2: After schooling is over,(ie. college, graduate schools, whatever) no one cares what grade you made. They just care that you understand what you went to college to learn.

true that...in hs I was number two with a 100.11 (dunno how that converts to GPA numbers) but I only had a 1310 on my SATs...oh well whatever, being number two = full ride to school.

I have a 3.8, rank 44/265, and got a 760 on math, and 580 on verbal, while the number one kid has a 4.6, and a 1100 SAT.....gpas, at least in my high school, don't mean much

Cumulative at the end of last year: 4.84
For 1st semester this year (only): 5.05
Class rank at the end of last year: 6/350-ish

Note: this is high school, not college.

yeah but the man decided to give me an 80% on a paper and said he could have given it a mark as high as 84% but just didn't. i kind of need those marks to get in to university...

3.91 in highschool becasue I fucked up hardcore freshman year.
28 on the ACT
3.75 first semester of college

grades are nothing, i have friends that are way smarter than me that had like 2.0 GPA's and 15's on their ACT. bragging about GPA and ACT scores means absolutely nothing, it gets you into college and thats it.

I hear you...I know I lack the natural "genius" so I work hard in school to try and make up for it as best I can.
