man i hope it's not to yell
actually it is
man i hope it's not to yell
for some reason that gave me a pretty funny mental picture. I'm picturing someone shouting or yelling like a girl instead of some hardcore scream.
"HEY!"
i'm retarded

there's no point in bitching. both chad and pete (and most of fall out boy) are hardcore kids in poppier rock bands. chad's screaming and pete's screaming both fit from everywhere to their respective bands to the hardest fucking bands out there. i'm sure chad wouldn't be on the album if it didn't sound good.

and in a high-pitched voice, like high pitch Eric on Howard Stern.

You have such a key avatar.
And this should be interesting. Props to the guy that pointed out that Chad also comes from a hardcore background and is now doing the pop-punk thing.

This is a good time to bring up a question I came up with a few days ago that I'm sure no one here will able to answer:
what hardcore bands were the guys from FOB (and while we're at it, Spitalfield) actually in prior to their current acts? I know I probably won't get recognizable names, but was it like - excuse my sweeping generalizations - actually enjoyable (old-school / youth-crew / melodic) or obsolete (tough-guy / breakdown mosh)? I'm pretty interested in checking them out if it was the former.

If you read alternative press this would've been news about two weeks ago...
Didn't guys from Bane scream on a New Found Glory record, not the last one, but the one before it

Pete mentions on the Directors Cut that his scream is his take on Shai Hulud.
Inagreendase: Pete was in Arma Angelus. They are a pretty heavy band with a bit more of a metal influence--being a huge fan of youth crew myself, I think Arma Angelus is just decent... they aren't anything special. Andy was in Racetraitor, and I have no idea what they sound like. I don't know the bands that Patrick and Joe were in though.

Shai Hulud – "Profound Hatred of Man" (CD – EP)
Shai Hulud – "Hearts Once Nourished with Hope and Compassion" (CD – LP)
Shai Hulud/Indecision – "Fall of Every Man" (Split CD)
"Hearts Once Nourished..." Is my fav hardcore record of all time. And if the news ever gets posted right...it should of said this....
"Our friends in new found glory are in europe right now so we had to send chad an mp3 to scream on and send back, bi-continental like jayz "the blueberry still connects"... Look out for that on the record. Chad that is, not jay z."
It's from the journal section at www.falloutboyrock.com
his scream will be the best thing on that cd
fuck yeah

im not sure about spitalfield but Pete was in Arma Angeleus along with Chris(the guy they talk about in the song Grenade Jumper) Patrick wasn't really in a band i dont think and joe was in it with pete i believe. Andy did not come in to the picture untill they made take this to your grave

I think a member of FOB was in a band with a member from Rise Against, cause I know the bands are friends...I might be wrong though.

You know who looks like Chad? AP's own Caleb Cattivera!
I liked the screaming bit on the 'Catalyst' single so this should be pretty good.

I think that Saturday is maybe the weakest track on an album that is getting weaker with every listen. I'm hoping that they go for a less poppy sound on this one, but...not holding out hope. Way too many much better albums will be released this year. And that guy with the South Park avatar is awesome. Kenny + Throwing Stars + Butters' face= Pure Awesomeness.

i have heard shai hulud, and i personally think chad blew when he sang for them. he's just trying to stay in the hardcore scene by screaming and wearing older hardcore band tees. his scream is sub-par at best, and he no longer has any relevance to hardcore. sorry, i'm just getting tired of chad. if he wants to do hardcore so bad, he shouldn't have ditched shai hulud. maybe then he wouldn't have to settle for lame cameos.

You are an idiot. Shai Hulud is amazing, and Hearts Once Nourished With Hope and Compassion is definitely one of the better hardcore releases of the past ten years.

how is chad screaming on a Fall Out Boy song an attempt at trying to get back to hardcore?? and do you ever think that he wears those t-shirts because he likes those bands and it's not just to be scene?

NFG self titled got me into music as well, same with the ataris - blue skies. anyway, didn't fall out boy talk shit about new found glory on the "my heart...." dvd? I recall one of them saying "New Found Glory makes music for little girls" .....making they were just fucking around?

They were joking around. Pete's acknowledged this in interviews a few times, the bands are friends.

the fob cd is going to be amazing, that's already a given. adding the guest apperances will make it even more mind blowing. chad is the man, and fob is fob..so in conclusion, amazing shit.

i dont know if anyone knows this, or even cares but chad also did guest screaming on keepsakes first album "the things i would say" he did some screaming on the song 'wither'
and by the way, not to name drop or anything, but i know chad and have known him for close to 5 years now and he has always been the same person he was then, and he has always LOVED hardcore, it was and will forever be a huge part of his life.
also all the guys from nfg are huge into hardcore they got their start touring with hardcore bands. and jordan can scream exactly like dennis from refused. ian, steve, and jordan used to be in a hardcore band with jesse kriz from keepsake and someone from shai hulud called "boddicker"
ok i am done with useless information most people probably dont care about
