hey i've a few like this--I write them as poems, but end up creating a song and using the poem as lyrics. im more into the "abstract" style of such lyricists as Geoff Rickley of Thursday, Claudio Sanchez of Coheed & Cambria, and Cedric Zavala of The Mars Volta. and tend not to like any stuf where every line rhymes..it sounds too forced. yea i do rhyme sometimes but stil...anyway, just read this:
“de facto bellum”
they scatter Through the windowpane at slightest intervention
abandoned carrosseries haunt the concrete artery below
would our communiqué relieve the tension?
….or just startle the pulse?..
in this compound-reaction we’ve fallen apart
torn bricks splits asunder the city Our Heart
Is it done? this child has only begun to feed
battlefield divides our mind-set, implied by the curtain
spreadshade-eagle line of the Enemy’s
I’m not apparent;
by your standards
the peace of the courtyard was shaken abrupt by an
iron stiletto ran straight through the sky
“Is it on? The mobilized fires…” were staid
lines dug as a corpse’ eye ornate
with wires sewn shut eyes
will repose while we wait
the end has
beginning no end the end no
end has the end
just begun
[ apparently]
