So I live in Portland, and this Sunday, Anberlin is playing with Straylight Run, Scary Kids Scaring Kids and some other band I've never heard of/don't care about. Tickets are $15 advance, 17 door. I like Straylight Run a lot, and same goes for Anberlin... just not into their most recent album as much as I was into Cities. So I'm wondering if it's worth it, though I think it probably is.
Also Kings of Leon are playing a significantly bigger venue on the 21st with the Stills, another two bands I quite like. In fact I'd say KOL > Straylight Run > Anberlin > the Stills. We Are Scientists is opening, but I've never heard them. Heard of, yes, but not heard, actually. Tickets to KOL are about $40 with service charge. Not sure if this is entirely worth it but I like their new shirts if that means anything.
Should I go to both? One or the other? Any personal experience with either? Help please.

They are the driving force as I like them more than Anberlin. Better staying power, and a less poppy sound. And not christian, which helps.

Well, that's pretty cheap for Anberling and Straylight. And if you see some of the new Anberlin material live, it might change for thoughts on it.
I've heard a lot of good stuff about Kings of Leon, but 40 bucks is kinda expensive.
So, go to Anberlin for sure, and Kings of Leon, depending on how your financial situation is.

More like Kings of LOL.
Go see Anberlin & co., you don't need to be seeing any over-hyped indie bands any time soon.
