I want good, sturdy drum heads, I've had good luck with Aquarian. What kind should I get, no papery what you call them, I want something durable and has good bounce.

What sound are you going for ? Anything 2-ply should be durable enough.

I don't really have a sound example more of a feel, kind of like a marching head. I just want a head that will be very firm and bouncy.

although i've been playing drums heads/tuning has been something I never really learned about, my brother always took care of the heads and now he's gone so I need to learn. I had some Aquarian clear heads for my old toms that I loved. I am also thinking about getting this, opinions?

I like clear heads because they have alot of boune and pop.

The next thing is can someone give me a rundown on clear heads and what coated etc. means. thank you.

I use REMO and I love the sound I get from them.

Here is my current setup (Batter is the side of the drum you hit with your stick/pedal and resonant is the other side):

Snare
Batter - AMBASSADOR Coated
Resonant - AMBASSADOR Snare Side
Bass
Batter - POWERSTROKE 3 Coated
Resonant - EBONY POWERSTROKE 3
Toms
Batter - PINSTRIPE Clear
Resonant - AMBASSADOR Clear

Last time I checked this is very similar to what the REMO website recommends and of course the sound will change depending on MANY variables (ie. what type drum set and how you tune them).
